Two-Worlds. I should have read reviews first, but at least I got my money back. That game stank worst than shiz.

OK... I lost my post. I said (in TL;DR mode) that I don't like Mario Kart (the ENTIRE series) or Super Smash Bros. Melee (the other two are fine).

I keep hoping the new Mario Kart will make me hate the old ones less, and they do, but only because they're even worse. It's all the worst parts of a racing game but with beloved characters laughing at you from the finish line instead of faceless cars. Every time I give it another go, hoping I'll like it, but they keep kicking me while I'm down.

I owned a copy of Melee so mostly I was attempting the single=player modes until I got bored then setting up my own Ultimate Battles because my testosterone was pumping to see some action and it never happened, they either weren't a challenge or kicked my ass, and yet I struggled with the game for months trying to squeeze fun out of it before I decided I literally never wanted to see it again.

I'm rather fond of Brawl, though. Huh?

Star Wars: The Force Unleashed. I did not like it and the fact that it's getting a sequel confuses me. I thought that the controls were clunky and the lightsaber, the ideal weapon for a Star Wars game, was underpowered. Still, I did enjoy throwing a Stormtrooper a hundred feet into the air.

I loved the Command and Conquer series to death, and enjoy all their series (Generals, Red Alert, Tiberium wars), and once I heard that C&C 4, the finale in the series was coming out, I was so happy.

I was SO disappointed. Not only in a weak finale for the series, but that's not the point. In over a DECADE of building up a base and dominating enemy bases and building up units en mass, you get used to it and start to enjoy it. But in C&C4 they REMOVE the base, every single bit of it! You get a mobile command center that loads units while moving around, and you get a unit cap so you can make any unit without price or such, just keep pumping it out. It took away over a decade of work into making it and they just adapt some style that the few remaining fans actually regret buying the game entirely! Biggest mistake in C&C's history, even bigger than EA's buying of Redwood. That bad.

Morrowind and Oblivion are the only two games that really disappointed me, I expected them to be epic and awesome, and they turned out clunky and unpolished. I didn't hate them at first, but after playing them, I started getting angry at what they could have been, and ended up hating them.

Not to say they were totally worthless games, not by a long shot, I just expected so much more, especially from Oblivion.

On the other hand, I went into Fallout 3 thinking it would be horrid and disappointing, and actually liked it. So I suppose the key is not getting hopes up.

Oh I almost forgot, Hellgate: London, the biggest disappointment ever. I was beyond excited for this game, that CGI intro movie they released... I must have watched it 100 times, I was p-u-m-p-e-d. Then it was 20% of a game with "content to come" that never did.

World of Warcraft

I was already kind of burned out on MMOs after playing EVE Online on-and-off for about a year or so. That and WoW is so insanely complex and requires such a huge time commitment that I'd rather just not bother. That and the art design wasn't really my thing.

For reference, I prefer Aion's and Lineage II's art styles to WoW's.
Coming from EVE you thought WoW was complex? What were you doing in the EVE universe for a year? cruising 9 sec space missions and mining beginner ore? One of the things I've always appreciated about EVE is it's complexity; tons to do if you have a good PRC.

I agree with you on the graphics, I prefer AION/Lineage graphics, more "real" I suppose. Though I can appreciate WoW's art style, they've done quite a bit with that outdated graphics engine, and made some breathtaking scenery.

Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising. Read about it and sounded like a great concept but played it for all of 30 minutes and absolutely despised it.

Brutal Legend. Jack Black+Heavy Metal+Swearing and Violence in a world run by headbangers and rockers? That's fucking awesome. Too bad the game play was awful and repetitive.

There have been pleanty of disapointments in my time as a gamer...but the two prevailing ones must be Shadow the Hedgehog and Two Worlds

Surprised no-one's bought up Borderlands. The multiplayer was crap, and that was the main selling point.
Wut? If you mean non system link i really don't know. But I do know that my cousins and I played that game so much and had a blast.
You ever play the PC version? Nothing but a pain in the arse.

MGS4. Its shooting mechanics are good enough, but I absolutely hate dealing with snake's stress meter. It refills so slowly that it makes me want to tear my eyes out.
But the thing that really drove me away from the game is the story. It's just so ridiculous. A cyborg ninja? A kung-fu vampire? There were at least 3 major plot points that would have turned out better if certain people had just pulled the trigger instead of listening to some speech, or hadn't waited for 20 seconds before doing so.
have you played the other MGS games??? MG games have always been about complex storylines that don't make sense at first but at the end it makes complete sense.
I'm not confused, and I'm curious as to how you got that impression. I just think that what's included in the story is silly to me.

Resident Evil 5. I heard all these awesome things about it, but when I finally played it, I was indescribably disappointed.

Call of Juarez.

I bought it used after reading a glowing recommendation on gamesradar. Returned it the next day. Just fucking awful gameplay.
