Games you'd love to see another entry for...but probably won't

I'd love a sequel to Jade Empire and Kotor, but since those two have already been said I'll try a few ones that I haven't seen said:
Kingdoms of Amalur: I know it didn't get the greatest of reviews but it was still a damn fun game with interesting story mechanics and a great world to explore.

Toonstruck: That was a beautiful game that I believe was never finished due to a perceived lack of interest, such a shame too since the original was so good.

Theme Hospital: If this game wasn't part of your childhood then you should probably pick it up on a site like gog. It was an amazing premise that unfortunately never got a modern re-release.

Dawn of War 3 as a combined effort between Relic and the Create Assembly. I don't really know what the chances of this happening are, although I'm really hoping it would eventually come

Half Life 3... Dory: "Just keep swimming, just keep swimming..."

Even though I pretty much ditched Sony after their fiascoes a few years ago, another entry in the Jak and Daxter series would be nice.

A shame that the planned sequels to Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine were canned, I do wonder if Sega would be interested now that they have Relic.

Did Level 5 just leave Dark Cloud 3 on the back burner and never really got back to working on it? there are rumors about it being in development, although nothing really concrete.

Haunting Ground/Demento. While the rapey plot was completely screwed up, there was plenty of good ideas to build on. The human-canine partnership in combat and puzzle solving had potential and the ally AI being a little stupid sometimes was justified by the fact the ally was an animal. As game characters go, I also think Fiona and Hewie had decent chemistry and could carry another game.

Seriously, I really would just like another adventure with those two characters.

Final Fantasy Tactics A3DS. Come on, the title even writes itself.

Also Warcraft 4, Guitar Hero: The Farewell Tour (needs moar Paradise City) and Rock Band: The Inevitable Reunion Gig (needs moar Bat Out Of Hell and Holding Out For A Hero - you got Paradise By The Dashboard Light and Total Eclipse Of The Heart, you've got no excuses).

Oh, and the proper Chrono Trigger sequel they had a title trademarked for (Chrono Break)...

I want The Last Guardian to come out. As an avid ICO and Shadow of the Colossus fan I've been waiting for a third game to consecrate the trilogy. I don't remember anymore when did development was announced but it must be close to 8 or 9 years now. What have we gotten after all that time? A half-baked trailer and a Penny Arcade joke. Meanwhile Fumito Ueda jumped production and Team Ico missed a whole generation (I'm not counting the HD remakes of ICO/Shadow), meaning I will have to purchase a PS4 when and if The Last Guardian gets released... without Fumito Ueda in charge... and probably unable to deal with a decade of hype. Way to go, Sony.

A few of mine are:
Rage: I'll honestly never understand why Rage didn't catch on a lot more. The game wasn't flawless, but I thought it had awesome gunplay, phenomenal graphics and sound, and a really interesting setting that I really wanted to see developed further.
Rage is actually getting a sequel, but I imagine id is focusing more on Doom 4 (Which is also coming) before working on Rage 2....
From what I've heard, Rage 2 is basically on hold indefinitely while they work on Doom 4, so I'm taking that as a big 'maybe' until I hear otherwise.

Man, some people brought up some great ones that I had forgotten about.

Darkwatch: Can't believe I forgot about this game!! And yes, the world could use more "weird west" type games that combine western aesthetic with paranormal and supernatural stuff.

Bulletstorm: I really liked Bulletstorm, and obviously it left itself wide open for a sequel, would love to see another one. I thought the game was just straight up fun.

Another one I thought of:

Battle Realms: This game was so awesome. For starters, there aren't nearly enough games set in fantasy medieval Japan settings (for reasons I'll never understand). It was awesomely creative and had great factions, great units, and combat was really cool because units actually looked like they were fighting each other, instead of just standing there and hitting each other with swords till one person falls over.

Technically Haunting Ground was a Clocktower spin-off so we might as well wish Capcom picked back Clocktower again. They don't seem very interested in anything except beat 'em ups and shooters these days though so it looks very unlikely.

Virtua Quest

Despite it flaws, it actually showed promise for a spin-off game... Plus, the game ended on a "cliffhanger" just begging for an anime-esque sequel... (So, there's that...)

Legend of Dragoon: I'm not ashamed to say that I loved this game. It was good old fashioned RPG fun, with a interesting take on conventional turn based combat with the timing button presses to extend your combos. Also the concept of Dragoons was just awesome. Being able to transform into a powerful Dragon Knight at any time in combat was fun and surprisingly strategic, even more so when you could just use your transformation to increase the power of normal attacks and magics or go all in for ultimate style super attacks.
Gonna second this. Game was basically Original Power Rangers with dragons instead of mechs. Because fuck yeah. Also, when you have a JRPG where the player looks forward to random battles instead of dreading them, you know you have the combat system perfect.

Gonna also second Pokemon Snap 2, as was said before.

Gonna add Golden Sun to this list. After the bomb that was Dark Dawn it's unlikely, but I am really attached tothat universe and would love to see more from it.

I'm kinda split on how I want it to continue though, I thought Defiance wrapped up Kain's and Raziels story perfectly and even though it set up a new story for the future I was happy with that end. So I'd even settle for a reboot of sorts, start over telling the original story in a fresh way. Hell you know what, give me HD remakes of the series that'd do me fine, c'mon Eidos, don't make me beg, you know I will.
There was another game already in development after Defiance, but the plug was pulled about 9 months in.

I don't expect them to make any more games, as this kind of behaviour sadly speaks for itself.
Still, I agree: I'd love graphically updated versions of the existing games. Not just HD re-releases, but full-on graphics updates. Imagine the glory of, say, a Reaver forge in Crysis-level fancy detail... *drool*

Back on the original topic, I'd also like more entries to the Dawn of War series and a sequel to Space Marine. I'm a huge W40k fan and Relic did phenomenal work on all their games of this particular franchise. I know THQ went belly up, but is that any reason for Sega as the new rights holder to let such a popular and profitable franchise decay? Why not simply re-hire Relic to make more games? :\

Games I would like to see a new entry of:
- Age of Mythology. Fantastic gameplay, every race was fun and interesting to play, but there has been nothing new since AoM Titans. Would love to see a new instalment.
- Empire Earth: Would love to see a new game in the series that feels like the first one. Great gameplay and wonderfull campain.
- Valkyrie Profile series: Love the gameplay and how it combines so many generes (RPG, platforming and a little bit of fighting). A new instalment would please me.
- The Next Game from Team ICO: Would love to see what they do with the next instalment, but seeing what has happened to The Last Guaridian...hope runs deep.
- Lufia/Estopolis: Underrated as hell, but deserves a new instalment. Please make it happen.

Fuck. That. Game. I spent so long gathering every little crafting material, upgrading every weapon and vehicle and beefing myself up and for what? The ending was so sudden and completely out of the blue that I realize now why the game was called Rage in the first place, because that is the emotion you feel at the end. You get nothing but a small 5 second cutscene with no questions answered, no plot resolution and then the credits roll on by. If they ever made a Rage 2 I would never buy it because I could rent the damn thing and probably finish it nor problem. I will never buy another Id Software game again, ever. Which sucks because the game did have decent gameplay, the weapons and world were cool. The minigames and crafting were fun. The only thing that held the game back was it's length and shitty ending where everything you ever crafted and every weapon you ever upgraded doesn't matter, because you won't use any of it. They hand you a BFG, have you kill some easy grunts and then the game ends abruptly. Games are meant to challenge your skills, to make you use the things you learned along the way and benefit those that prepare, the entirety of the game was great about this till the end and I sincerely hope if they do make a Rage 2 then it will be a full
game, not half of what could have been a great one.

Anyways, rant over. Mine is Dragon's Dogma. It has a fantastic combat system, great boss fights and the pawn system was pretty nice. If they made it co-op and fixed some of the smaller issues the game would be perfect.

Vampire the masquerade bloodline : imo the best rpg i have ever played granted the stealth was broken and it does lose some of it deus ex style gameplay later on (fuck you activision for rushing this game out ) but it made up for it with its great atmosphere , story and dialogue .... also fuck activision

Giants citizen of kabuto : a mix of 3rd action shooter and ressource gathering and base buildingn with three distinct factions consisting of space marines with jetpacks , sea women who can summon tornadoes and a giant godzilla style monster that can smash , crab and eat anything in its path ....come on how did this not catch on

Sacrifice : I dont think I need to justify why this game need another entry

Hellgate London, So many good ideas, so much potential, but badly executed. I would love for the developers to try a ne wo from the ground up.

Rune, fun game with lot sof room for improvement, great sequel material

"Severance: Edge of Darkness": Very good game, but with outdated controls.

these last two are specially interesting with the popularity of dark souls and multiplayer

Godhand, because Godhand is awesome

Cardinal Syn, interesting characters, and fighting stages, with the proper care could became a soul Calibur contender, with it´s own characters, more fantasy world and darker tone.

KOTOR 3 can happen. Jade Empire 2 can happen. Every game that I want to see a continuation of has a chance to get one. Except for Def Jam: Fight for New York. I know that there was a DJ:Icon game, but it sucked so much I don't even want to talk about it.

Meanwhile, FFNY had everything: it had relatively nice character creator, customization of fighting styles, and so on, and on, and on. But I think that EA simply got lucky. They did not intend to make a good game, so I highly doubt that another entry in this game series will be at the very least not disenjoyable.

Legacy of Kain!

This series never really got its due. Excellent world, lore, (impeccably voice-acted) and characters, and a host of interesting gameplay mechanics to boot. That F2P action/shooter "Nosgoth" doesn't count, we need a new epic letting us play out how Kain realizes his final destiny.
this gets my vote, but with Tony Jay now passed, maybe the best thing would be a HD remake?

For starters, the popular duo of more Jade Empire, and KotOR 3.

One that I've not seen mentioned is a sequel to cult classic, Black. I have a feeling it wouldn't have the same impact it did back then, what with the proliferation of crappy Modern Military Shooters. Black 2 would be saddled with an MP mode and DLC, so it would be blighted by contemporary mores of the games industry. However, I still think it's always deserved another entry.

It was a strange blend of affected realism, gun fetishism, and arcade gameplay, with a 'serious' script packed full of jargon and textured detailed. Incredible sense of atmosphere in-game, too, with one of my all time favourite game scores from Chris Tilton. The whole game was clearly insane... but it was presented and crafted with such attention to detail that it's still one of the most memorable shooters to this day, and makes the SP atmosphere of stuff like CoD seem utterly woeful and weedy by comparison.

(and no, 'spiritual successor' Bodycount doesn't count)

Another Force Unleashed would be nice - it might be able to wash away the memories of the monumentally terrible TFU2, but obviously with the EU being gutted that's not going to happen.

I really liked Mini Ninjas, too. It was deceptively well made, and had a lot of heart and soul. It wasn't perfect by any means, so a sequel could easily refine the concept into something great.

I can't believe I didn't mention Zelda 2. It's another one of those games with great ideas but a flawed delivering. Minus the annoying traction, the combat felt smooth and it felt satisfying to kill something. I believe that a 2D sidescrolling Zelda could work despite how Zelda 2 or "Those two which shall not be named" turned out. I would mention a better Castlevania 2: Simon's Quest (another "black sheep" of a series) but Order of Ecclesia already did that.

What's worse is that they let Metzen write and he's fully admitted to abiding by the "Rule of Cool". If it sounds cool, he'll implement it even if he has to retcon or create new, lore breaking stories to do it.
It's why Garrosh isn't dead 6 (or 7) times over and can somehow go back to the past and industrialize his own army. And why apparently near-extinct races can pull massive armies out of thin air. Plot armor, Status Quo and Rule of Cool trump all. I think some of the "blame" should go to Kosak. Their collective nostalgia for Warcraft 2 is probably why we're retreading on that storyline.

I can hardly believe it wasn't until the 67th post that someone finally mentioned Timesplitters. That is THE discontinued game series that I would love a sequel to. 2 and 3 are my favorite multiplayer shooters ever; no one makes games like those anymore.

I will also add my voice to the chorus of those hoping for another entry in the Legacy of Kain. It's great, and it needs a true conclusion.

Another Dishonored would be good. The game was only decent, but the setting of Dunwall was fabulous. Expand on that universe, and exploit its potential a bit more than the first game did, and I would love it.

And as for BioShock: I hope it's over. I hope that Ken Levine can be done with that concept and leave it behind. I love those 3 games too much to want the series to overplay itself and become stale. Infinite was a terrific ending to one of the great game series ever, and I want it to stay that way.
