Is there anyone out there that has the good fortune of playing video games with their boyfriend/girlfriend?

I recently beat the co-op campaign of Halo with my boyfriend and we've been playing online a bit together here and there. I know a lot of people talk about how to get their significant other to accept their gaming habits, but I wonder how many of you guys out there actually have the other participate?

We usually play zombie games together like RE5 and L4D but things like Halo and Modern Warfare aren't left out of the mix either.

Can you suggest any good games to play together? What do you like to do?
Mario Party 4 on the Gamecube was my fav to play with my ex, lots of laughs

My fiance, and I are both female gamers and we met in chat rooms for awhile, but our romance didn't pick up until after I met her in person in an emergancy room for a broken arm by sheer coincidence (she was the surgical resident who reset my arm). We 1st began as a flirty couple of girls on Xbox live, owning some pretty bad kids at Halo 2. We even got banned once cause they complained that we were gross and unwanted even tho it was just harmless playful flirting. Until one day when our ban was lifted she asked me if i was seriously into other women, and I admitted to her I was bisexual and currently in a relationship, we backed off for awhile. Then the same year the guy i was dating got real violent with me and broke my arm after he threw me out of a moving vehicle and luckily someone called the police. I finally got to meet the girl I chatted with all that time in person by sheer coincidence. I didnt know where she lived, i didnt know what she looked like, or even what she did for a living. We just knew eachother's names and she looked at my Chart and just said "AlisonPrime360" (Not my gamer tag for Xbox live anymore) and I was shocked she knew my tag and I just said yes. After setting my arm and I was discharged she met me in the parking lot and asked me out one more time and I accepted, and 3 years later, We're set to Domesticly Partnered.
Aside from broken bones and knobhead exs, a lovely story

My gf and i used to (before she passed away, since then i havent been able to find a girl as big into games as I am), but we would always play against each other. In SW battlefront 2 She'd be the opponent. She'd always pick opposite theme teams I'd make. it went so far as to she wore 360 appearal cause she knew i liked Sony, just so she could get on my nerves. not that it really ever bothered me.

Well, me and my boyfriend like RPG games, so it's usually hard to co-op because of it's lack of existence. :p Although, now that you mention it, maybe I can bring my We <3 Katamari game with me next time... Oh, and btw, if you have a PS2 available, I recommend We <3 Katamari, it's really fun to play co-op on.

We do play Lucifer's Call together though, sometimes I play and he watches, and the other way around. I like both watching and playing, so it's a good "gaming" balance in our relationship.

I play some Lego games (Star Wars, Indiana Jones and Batman) with my wife and Rock Band whenever we have the time. Currently she's learning to play Bayonetta but is having some trouble with combos and dodging. She'll get it eventually.

I wonder when I'll be allowed to play my Xbox again? :p

I'm playing Heavy Rain with my current girlfriend, but that's about all she's interested in aside from Wii games.

My ex and I played WoW together all the time, and got together with another WoW couple and had sex...I mean, partied up and ran instances. Heh heh, yeah...that's what I meant.

My special lady friend likes playing video games with me. She is a casual player, but as sure as I am made of flesh and blood, I will make her into a hardcore gamer.

Though I have no significant other at the moment; neither of my past girlfriends would play games with me. My first girlfriend couldn't understand what I saw in gaming, so obviously we never played together. She didn't even enjoy watching me play.

My second girlfriend did play video games, but didn't enjoy talking about them or playing them with other people. It was like she only played video games to be able to have input on gaming discussions and to take out aggression. Which saddened me greatly.

Its called a closet gamer, and there is nothing wrong with that.

Anyway, back to the topic. My wife and i have been gaming together sense we first started dating, a little over 7 years ago. When we first got together she hadn't played a video game sence she was a little kid, but together we have gone though EQ, EQ2, Halflife, Counterstrike Source, WoW, L4D, L4D2, MW2, and many other games that we played for smaller amounts of time. We are currently between games now, but i look forward to Portal2's co-op with her.

Huh, that's an interesting take on it. Would that mean that perhaps she was embarrassed by playing video games?

Upon reading my post back to myself, I realize I'm coming across as snarky towards the girls I dated. This was unintentional, I was just trying to state facts. Albeit, my opinion is definitely not objective. XD

Honestly i didnt read it as being snarky. The way you describe it though does make it sound like she is a closet gamer. I have found many people like this, mostly with video game or anime, who are more than willing to tell me all about the latest game they played or what they are watching at the moment, and the highlights of there last multiplayer game, but once in a group of non fans will not discuss it. Maybe i find it more because i dont really look like your typical gamer, so they feel comfortable talking privatly about there guilty pleasure with me.

My girlfriend and I play Fable 3 and Borderlands together, and we used to love Left 4 Dead. We also occasionally Pokemon battle. So... yep, I'm lucky to have someone as great as her to play games with.

My Girlfriend likes to watch me play videogames, especially KillZone 2 if I'm drunk online and therefore performing poorly and throw fits claiming the shots aren't registering, but she doesn't partake with me.
Yeah, this is what usually happens with me and mine. Like, they actually say they enjoy watching but prefer not to play.

my and my partner are currently playing through the Gears of War campaigns - I try and back her up whilst she goes out in front, because I've a lot more experience with console shooters and she's always had problems with the controls, so if I was to run ahead there wouldn't be anything left. She often helps me out when it comes to slower, more RPG-ish games because I'm usually not very good at them. She also wants to get me into her rugby and football games but I'm just not really interested. Annoyingly, before my PC broke and started sucking up money, we were going to buy a second PC so we could play games like TF2 and L4D together.
