While possibly amusing from Garry's perspective, I wish he would spend more time working on the game's actual problems than taking time out to pursue his petty agendas.
This accomplishes very little in the overall scheme of things, and Garry himself has admitted the objective of his little stunt was solely to "make fun of pirates," not catch them. For the record, I am a paying customer, unaffected by this.
GMod's updates very often have bugs and errors mixed in, enough that they're often more trouble than they're worth. Recent updates in particular have rendered the basic, default content in the game buggy and flawed. More to the point, no news of upcoming fixes have been released- as is the norm.
Garry has yet to even acknowledge the myriad problems that plague the game, something that might be acceptable if the game were released as free piece of software. As a commercial game, there is, however, a minimum standard of quality to be expected from the developer, which Garry has, time and again, failed to uphold. To add insult to injury, what little information he relays to the community is terse and laced with antagonism. Garry's general demeanor is arrogant and insufferable.
That he spends time tweaking his updates to remove a small number of imbeciles instead of directing his energy to fixing the games' many flaws is exasperating.
...Okay, done venting my spleen. Thanks for reading.
