And how similar is the Russian PMG to CP masks like your avatar from Half Life?

Those are a great collection. I've always wanted to have one, but I didn't know where to get it. Where do you buy yours?

All my masks have come from surplus stores (online and actual stores) or eBay, eBay is a great place to get masks, sometimes people will be selling rare ones cheap because they don't know what there worth. If you want a good mask cheap get the M61 V3. You can get them complete with the bag and decontamination powder for £15.

Also on the subject of the PMG, it is very much like the CP mask, only difference is the side loading filter and the CP mask has two filters on the front and no exhalation valve (so it wouldn't actually work).
So if you wanted a civil protection mask ever get the PMG or the SCHMS mask.

Meh, my standart issue german army gas mask was enough for me when I had it...it kinda turns you off when you have to put your full NBC gear on in seconds as part of a drill in the middle of the night and then RUN around the block for 15 minutes just to show you how much it sucks...
Serriously, that´s what they said this was for.
It makes for fun drinking games tho...Maskensaufen has become one of the many things german soldiers do with beer.

On the part of collecting militaria, well I play airsoft, so I have a bunch of stuff...a real korean stamped Chicom SKS Chestrig and some british pouches from my dad, which one has 1943 stamped into. I also have an american M1 Steelpot helmet...I don´t use any of them for playing tho.

I have an old NATO issue mask. It looks a bit like the one on the previous page but with a smaller side filter and the front exhaley bit is smaller and has aperforated metal disk over it with another raised disk in the centre.

but with the exhalation bit from this with the outer bit covered in perforated metal as well.

I live in Israel? im required to own 2 of them by law.
It did help me with some S.T.A.L.K.E.R cosplay though so it's not all bad.

The elite combine masks are purly fictional, never seen a Cyclops mask.
However the Metrocops and Combine soldier masks are real, they're based on three potential masks the PMG, SCHMS and PBF. The metrocop concept art had the exact PMG in the picture.

The first is the British Light anti gas respirator.
Second is the Canadian C3

I think it's an early post war British type as it uses a very similar design to the top one which is WWII British but has elements of the 2nd (recent british C3). It's carry case is also pretty much identical to carry cases I've seen with the top one but it's stenciled with NATO markings so must be post war.

There are 2 in that collection that remind me of Stormtroopers' helmets. I wish I had one, if I did, I would definitely play STALKER with it on... just for the full-on immersion.

gas masks are frakin cool especially when mixed with the work punk steam punk and cyberpunk
i how ever cannot own one with out every one in the neighbor hood calling 911
maybe i shouldn't wear them...

Yeah that's a shame you can't wear them, my neighbours just consider me a bit crazy.
I do use the excuse of wearing them to fancy-dress charity events to raise money, people seem to find a full NBC suit with a mask pretty cool.

I only have one gas mask, one of the Israeli military surplus. And i only have it for more practical uses in case I ever need it. (you never know) but unless you buy brand new filters once you get your mask, they are pretty useless.

I have a few, I have an Iraqi Army one from 1991 and a U.S. Army one, and a MOPP suit with hood and gloves. The Iraqi one looks sneakily like the US mask.

That's the Russian GP-5 Civilian respirator.
