While Gawker more than rightfully got what it deserved, let's not forget that Hulk Hogan still was fired from the WWE for spewing racist diatribe, and that his financial supporter Peter Thiel is a bigot neocon with anti-democratic tendencies.
This is a story without heroes.
btw this is the "racist diatribe":
"I don?t know if Brooke was fucking the black guy?s son. I mean, I don?t have double standards. I mean, I am racist, to a point. Fucking niggers. But then when it comes to nice people and shit, and whatever?I mean, if she was going to fuck some ******, I?d rather have her marry an 8-foot-tall ****** worth a hundred million dollars! Like a basketball player! I guess we?re all a little racist. Fucking ******."
For that he was: Fired, was deleted from wrestlings hall of fame, will most likely never again be able to sign a contract that requires any amount of publicity from his part (i say never again because hes not the youngest guy anymore.. hes actually pretty old) and will ever be known as a racist...
So what he did was:
He used the "n" word in a fit of rage about his daughters poor live choices
He said something in private that was recorded without his knowledge or his agreement
He felt secure in this private setting to speak his mind, something he would have never done publically or in his role as hulk hogan.
He was very angry and used the most offensive language he could think of to voice his anger, you know, like everyone else would have done?
This statement btw was recorded years before it was made public, and in the meantime there was not a single other case of his "blatant racism" to be found, not after or before for that matter. Not to mention he apologized and explained himselfe.. and it should have ended at that.
But good ol US of A cant have that... white dude used the "n" word! Lets ruin his live over it! He deserves it the bastard!
Oh and Thiel only financed hulk hogan, he gave hogan money so he could sue gawker wich was his right to do and as it turned out the Court also gave hogan right. You make it sound as if Thiels personal political leanings have anything to do with the fact that gawker broke the law here. But it doesnt. Theres nothing moraly aprehensive over the fact that hogan took thiels money to take Gawker to court.
The real moral aprehensive thing is that even someone like hulk hogan needs the financial backing of a friggin billionaire to get justice done in the USA.
Think about that before you frown at where hogan got his money from.
So yeah... TL

Hogan used the "n" word in private in a fit of rage... got deleted from wrestling history and all sources of income cut off....
Just in time for his lawsuit against gawker... funny how things like that work out eh?
And yet other people use their corporate affiliated social media accounts proudly proclaiming to the public at large that they would like to murder white people, or defend pedophiles, pedophilia and child porn... and people actually come to their defense or selectively ignore what they say.... amazing times we live in.
