Funny thing is, only a few days ago at work an older lady was talking to her friend about how evil porn is while waiting in line at my checkout (wonderful topic of conversation in a public place, am I right?) and when it was her turn she put down 5 of those kind of books.Vault101 said:arent there alot of trashy romance novels with that kind of subject matter?
I dont really think I could watch "lesbian" porn knowing they were both probably straight...it would feel awkwardColour-Scientist said:I've never been into gay porn and none of my close girl friends (the ones I talk about that kind of stuff to) are. I don't think girl-on-girl for men can be compared with guy-on-guy for women. Most professional "lesbian" porn is made by otherwise straight girls with a male audience in mind, most professional gay porn is made with a male audience in mind, it's not a clear-cut comparison.
From what I gather, that Yaoi stuff has more of an element of erotica to it, which would explain why it would be popular among certain groups of women. I don't think you can compare that with standard gay porn either.
and none of them are gay?Powereaver said:Oddly enough lots of my female friends tend to watch lesbian porn... *Scratches head* must be something going on there
Yeah I don't know what it is about the incest. I walked through artist alley at this year's Anime Expo and Avengers was one of the big things this year. Cap and Tony I can kind of get, but don't know what is up with the Thor and Loki.ForgottenPr0digy said:women may not like gay porn but they love Yaoi and creeping slash fiction and crazy paring that involve gay incest(DantexVirigl for example)
You are correct. My wife is into to guys having sex, likes gay porn, and being Bi is a requirement to marry her.Relish in Chaos said:This is just something that I was thinking about last night. Is gay porn (or guy-on-guy porn) aimed at women as well as gay men, and if so, does it have much of a female audience? I know porn in general is primarily aimed at men, but when people say that, it seems like they're talking more about the fact that the majority of (mainstream) porn focuses on the sex appeal of the women. But gay porn does seem to be quite popular. Is it similar to how lesbian porn (or girl-on-girl porn) is primarily aimed at men? Do most women find Tom of Finland-style bodies and artwork attractive?
And please, for the love of God, don't derail this into another gender topic. I'm not generalizing, or at least trying to, at all here, since I was very careful to use words such as "primarily" and "most", and I'm just asking questions here because it's a topic that fascinates me and I'm willing to learn.

Despite all of them being very different people, they actually gave me the very similar answers:
- They all find real life guys doing more pg-13 guy-on-guy stuff (just kissing, making out, cuddling, partial nudity only) to be pretty hot depending on what the guys look like of course.
- They found that two guys actually having sex to be kinda gross however, regardless of what the guys looked like.
This makes me think one thing there is clearly a thing missing from what man want as opposed to what women do. Men wan to see two people fuck women want to watch a relationship. Yes I know sweeping generalization I am even with the ladies on this one sex for the sake of sex is meh I like the whole emotional and romantic aspect of sex but you have to admit it does work in general to describe the differences.Vault101 said:arent there alot of trashy romance novels with that kind of subject matter?

OT: The girls that I have spoken who watch porn, as far as I am aware, tend to watch "straight" porn. Some said lesbian too, which was lovely to hear. But surprisingly, very rarely gay.
It's probably because it's not exactly mainstream, so there's more time and effort put into it than a quick vid of some guy jackhammering a girl while she repetitively says, "Fuck me" (he's already fucking you, shut the fuck up!). Or maybe it's just that, since it's so different (but not that much) from what we usually see and there's less of it, it seems better.Marcus McLean said:When I had a tumblr account for a brief period the people I saw reblogging gay porn were all women.
I am straight, but something I noticed is that gay porn seems to generally be made to a much higher standard than straight porn. There are a lot less ugly/worn out actors, they don't waste so much time and you don't have to listen to them fake an orgasm for 15 minutes.
mabye its to do with jealously?....like some people, no matter how open minded they try to be, can;t help but feel rage/bad when they see their partner with somone elseDANEgerous said:This makes me think one thing there is clearly a thing missing from what man want as opposed to what women do. That stated I do not get why emotional response has to equate to monogamy. We all likely understand the whole friends with benefits thing exist but it is at least moderately taboo and i simply can not grasp why apart from it simply being tradition that the two go hand in hand
