That's a tough call. There's a huge level of online interest in the game, sure, but how much of it is just rubbernecking at the latest chapter in this ridiculously drawn-out train wreck? It's the Snakes on a Plane syndrome: It attracted massive amounts of attention from the nerd fan base but when the rubber met the road, it was all just ironic lolz. Nobody actually went to see it, and it bombed. I wouldn't be at all surprised if DNF worked out the same way.
(For the record, I saw Snakes on the Plane. It wasn't as good as I'd hoped, which of course is another concern facing DNF: Over-hype.)
