*prepares for the innevitable shitstorm of some tory politican trying to get it banned in the UK*
*Also prepares Jack Thompson radar to tell when he catches wind of this*

Well the ESRB need to STFU it's just Duke being Duke, which is completely awesome... besides there is a reason we have a mature rating...

The don't rate downloaded add-ons, right? I'm seeing a tamed game with free day one dlc to bring back the Duke ;)
I can see it now. Without DLC, everything is fluffy bunnies and rainbows and Duke fires sweeties out of his guns.
Genius, no? ^_^

Gearbox is becoming my favorite developer and I've only played one game from them, sure it's the best fucking game of all time Borderlands, but still these guys are awesome. They would've been the biggest guy on the block in the 90's.

I will buy this regardless of rating, even if it's AO. After all, most Duke fans are adults now, like myself.
That said, I bet Americans here worry more than others, after all USA is not very, heh, tolerative towards sexual themes in videogames. I for one don't worry much, I live in Russia and Manhunt 1 and 2 are still being openly sold in most big videogame stores (PS2 versions are ridiculously overpriced though, considering game's age), as well as Postal 2 and even some Japanese porn games (localization is usually horrid though).

Can't see this making it in to Australia anytime soon :-|
Aww hell no! They are GOING to allow it through, or there will be hell to pay...I've waited over a decade pal, and i'm not letting some crotchety old farts stop me! *loads shotgun*
The saddest thing is, if Duke had come out when it was supposed to, there probably wouldn't have been any problem releasing it. Back when games still had a sense of fun.

Man, don't sweat it, PEGI thought The Witcher was too tame for it's rating. Just release it continental in Europe first.

I wouldn't worry too much about getting banned in the UK at least. Previous Dukes escaped unharmed, and I would imagine PEGI will just slap an 18 on it and be on its merry way. After all, it's not like there's scenes of torture or gratuitous road kill, or anything like that.

They should just release it in 2 versions. Duke Nukem: Manly Edition (R-18, AO Rating) and Duke Nukem: Pussy Edition (18, M rating). Though they might wanna change the name of the 2nd one to something less profane.

But I don't think any studio's worked that out yet...
am i the only one thinking 'give everyone a re-writable disk with only a downloader on in', let the game download itsself, burn itsself to disk XD?
that wold bypass pretymuch anything right XD? and you can do it ONCE anywhere where you have a internet connection and a burn-drive...hmm sounds like EVERYWHERE MAYBE XD?

LOL - I think that takes it out of the realm of DLC and into digital distribution, which ESRB is involved in ;) Nice try though.

Then again, there's plenty of little indie titles that aren't rated - does getting ERSB'd only matter for getting onto shop shelves or something? How's it work?

well...yeah obviously it should be an adult only game... as long if its not banned anywhere I'm fine with that

young children + the duke = more deranged swearing children = more hospitalised children due to concussion by blunt object
