It's a problem of adapting a game that is already cinematic. We've already been through this same thing over and over again, without much success. After uncharted, I really feel this is unnecessary. I know they're trying to get a God of War movie off the works for years, but that all fell through. A TV series doesn't exactly excite me.
I get that, but with people from The Expanse and WoT, that's a solid record there.

I have no idea who or what any of that is. I trust your info, but still skeptical here. I'll wait until we see something.

Still they say…maybe it’s because people still can’t find a better one for less-than-sell-your-soul price.
I am jealously guarding my 1070 (my current system came with a 5700 XT, which itself is pretty good). That old card was a bang-for-your-buck workhorse back in its day and can still hold its own.

I really wanted to get a 1060 back in the day, but life happened and I didn't. I assumed I'd be able to pick up another 60 series video card in the future. Couldn't have been more wrong.

UPDATE 9/3/22: Four more Activision Blizzard shareholders have filed lawsuits against the company over its planned acquisition by Microsoft, bringing the total now to six.

Polygon reported that these legal notices take a similar stance as the original two filings - that Activision Blizzard's deal violates the Securities and Exchange Act (more on all that below).

In related news, three potential Activision Blizzard stockholders were today revealed as under investigation by US authorities for possible insider trading related to the deal itself.
Hold up, what's that sneaky lil' footnote there?

The grifts a keep a coming!

The US Justice Department and SEC are investigating potential insider trading connected to Microsoft's $69bn buyout Activision, the Wall St Journal has reported, and specifically the large bets placed on stock by three men, just days prior to the deal becoming public.

On 14th January, the men spent more than $100m on Activision stock options priced at just $40/share, underneath the company's then $63 price. In effect, they were already making a profit.

Four days later, on 18th February, Activision announced it was being bought in a deal worth $95/share. If and when this deal is ratified, the men stand to make more than $100m in profit.

Who are these men? There's former chairman and CEO of 20th Century Fox Barry Diller, music mogul and Dreamworks co-founder David Geffen, and socialite Alexander von Furstenberg, son of German Prince Egon von Fürstenberg. The trio are now being investigated as to how they knew each other, and what they may have known of Activision being acquired.

However, various details are already public. For example, it's interesting to note that billionaire Diller has served alongside controversial Activision Blizzard boss Bobby Kotick for years as a board member at Coca-Cola.

Diller and Geffen have been lifelong friends, the WSJ reported, and previously worked together. As for von Fürstenberg - well, Diller is now married to his mum.

"It was simply a lucky bet," Diller told WSJ. "We acted on no information of any kind from anyone. It is one of those coincidences."

Microsoft and Activision declined to comment.
Genuinely. Impressive.

How do you sue someone for being bought out?
A good question. There's a couple of paragraphs in the original article that might help contextualise things hopefully;

The first lawsuit was filed by Kyle Watson in California. In this lawsuit, Watson claims the planned acquisition of Activision by Microsoft is "unfair for a number of reasons". According to Watson's lawyers, one of these reasons is that the board is hoping to "procure for themselves and senior management [...] significant and immediate benefits" (via Polygon).

In addition to this, the lawsuit states that Microsoft's acquisition plans were not in Activision Blizzard's "best interest", nor that of Kyle Watson's and their fellow shareholders. Watson claims the preliminary proxy statement Activision Blizzard filed with the US Securities and Exchange Commission was "materially deficient" and did not give them the appropriate data that would allow them to make an "intelligent, informed and rational decision of whether to vote in favour of the proposed transaction".

Elsewhere, the lawsuit claims that the board "failed to create an independent committee composed of disinterested directors to run the sales process".

Lucky bet my ass. Luck is what it would take getting convictions for them to all be in prison, having trouble holding onto their soap. Would be a small compensation for the careers spent screwing people over to get that rich.

Wait, Corps can be sued for this? I was under the impression that was just how capitalism worked and there wasn't anything to be done about it, as scummy as it is.Because if that's the case 90% of Americans would have a reason to sue their corpo employers for being greedy bastards.

Or is the problem not that they're enriching themselves(normal corpo behaviour), it's that the shareholders weren't getting a cut?

Long story short, Nintendo announced that due to "recent world events", Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp will no longer be releasing on April 8th, and said to "stay tuned for updates on a new release date."

I'll be curious to see how many "war" games come out this year. Cod is also already out of the running.

That didn't stop Nintendo for releasing these games back then on the GBA during the era of "War on Terror", and Iraq. What's so special right now?

Six Days in Fallujah is allegedly gonna come out in december. We'll see if that doesn't get pushed. Granted that's already probably gonna see a lot of controversy regardless depending how it addresses the war crime aspect of that event.

I swear that game is always being pushed back and canceled (but not really). This feels like another long con, like Star Citizen.
