My buddy is a producer on this game. When to a birthday party with him on Saturday. He refuses to tell me anything about the game because he is a wanker
. But it's gonna be another CoD. Though because they are skipping next year, MW2 will have to sustain the brand for two years which could lead to interesting things down that road. Apparently they areincreasing the dev cycle for all the studios so instead of a three year development between games, each studio will have 4 years to hopefully find ways to mix the formula up.
His wife works for Insomniac and I hit him up regularly for Spider-Man 2 and Wolverine news, but he is a well behaved person and tells me nothing. He does hook me up with games sometimes though so that's cool.

Elden Ring stole Horizon's thunder much the same way that Breath of the Wild did back in 2017. Now that the Elden Ring has died down, Horizon is coming back in a big way and I am thrilled to see it, if for nothing other than making sure Goreilla Games gets to keep doing cool shit.
I'm glad Horizon is getting it's chance in the sun. It deserves to be judged on it's own merits and not held back by the excuse some of it's fans have that "Elden Ring robbed Horizon" I've seen. Elden Ring absolutely outshined Horizon when it came out. But yeah, that has died out much like the hype of having Elden Ring has mostly died out at this point.
I also think the fact that there are no new AAA releases for quite a while now, meaning that people will be going back to the releases they missed during the big hype month. Like going back to Horizon and such.
Well, it'd better, or else I'm going to wonder what I spent 45 minutes playing last night.

Update from the devs.
TL;DR
- "We're DEFINITELY listening to the feedback from the community"
- Adding bit more details with current maps as well as fixing spawn points
- Changes around game modes, as well as adding back rush
- Hazard Zone development is winding down
- Specialists aren't going anywhere. BUT all the cringy voice lines and cosmetics will be gone and be replaced with more gritty and military-themed ones.
- Specialists changes are coming to suit their themes better, but it'll be a slow and steady process
- Adding better 3rd person character animations
- New guns, gadgets, UI improvements, and performance fixes will come during Season 1
- Speaking of Season 1, it'll mark the beginning of season pass, coupled with free vs premium content. Gameplay stuff will be free while cosmetic stuff will be premium.
Battlefield needs a fucking break. EA has been beating the shit out of DICE that they can't actually do anything to make their games good within the time frame. At least CoD splits their games between 4 studios so that each studio has time to breathe and try to make a decent game. DICE just gets shit on and there really isn't anything they can do about it.
I mean, if you think of it, do games really exist? Does anything really exist? Are we just illusions chasing illusions to convince ourselves we exist? Does anyone smell gas?
