That commercial is about over a decade behind. Who the hell they even trying to fool?
Let me guess, if guy want to join they have to pay a fee or something and it's like 99.99999% guy on there wondering why there's no cute girl joining.
I don't know. I didn't look that hard into it. It was just funny, and used some female streamer that I didn't recognize for the video.

The word Suhoshin translates to Guardian Spirit, for anyone curious.

Funny thing about this game is that it was developed in France. Either they have some Korean people there, or they have an incredible understanding of how Korea llooked like during Joseon Dynasty.

That being said, this looks to be more of a visual novel, something that I don't typically classify as a game

This coming from the guy whose company just delayed one of their major upcoming titles.
It's even more hypocritical as many Ubisoft games after the second Assassin's Creed has horrible achievements or trophy systems. Or the games that make 100% completion a total nightmare. Not to mention the multiplayer only achievements you can't get anymore, because they're shutting the servers down for said multiplayer games.

Unpopular opinion: what's worse for gaming are shit, sexual abuser-protecting, gaslighting bosses and managers...

"The ball is in your court," Yves Guillemot tells staff.
Ubisoft stocks have plummeted following the news of several cancelled projects and lower than expected sales throughout 2022.

In a call with investors, the company said it was facing "major challenges as the industry continues to shift towards mega-brands and long-lasting titles", resulting in the underperformance of recent releases Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope and Just Dance 2023.

Since the announcement, company stocks have fallen by 19 percent to trade at €19.26, the Financial Times reported.

Skull and Bones has received another delay to its release, on top of the cancellation of three unannounced games.

In an email to staff seen by Kotaku, Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot called on staff to take responsibility for the success of forthcoming projects.

"Today more than ever, I need your full energy and commitment to ensure we get back on the path to success," said Guillemot. "I am also asking that each of you be especially careful and strategic with your spending and initiatives, to ensure we're being as efficient and lean as possible.

"The ball is in your court to deliver this line-up on time and at the expected level of quality, and show everyone what we are capable of achieving."

Ubisoft's line-up for the next fiscal year (until March 2024) includes Assassin's Creed Mirage, Avatar, Skull and Bones, and at least one unannounced big game.

Earlier this week UK developer Frontier saw its stock drop after the poor performance of its F1 Manager game.

In a press release today, Ubisoft outlined a new strategy for the remainder of its fiscal year, as well as lowered expectations for the last fiscal quarter. Ubisoft explains the move as a result of the company "facing major challenges as the industry continues to shift towards mega-brands and long-lasting titles than [sic] can reach players across the globe, across platforms and business models."
I guess we can all mega-brand Ubisoft has notorious, money-grubbing assholes

France is apparently really into manga, maybe more so than the US, so I don't find it surprising there would people there that'd go all in on nailing the look of eastern countries.

Just want to point out, your company can do something you disagree with or have tried to change.

I know. It still doesn't change the fact that this guy is coming off as if he's "profound" or hit some new revelation. The fact that he picks of all the times now to do this doesn't help right now. The problems of achievements have been pointed out since their very first inception. Hell, back in 2008, X-PLAY of all shows, pointed how some games aren't even worth it. Even for just getting achievements. I don't remember what bad game they were reviewing at the time, but they weren't afraid to point this out. So I will give them that.

Totally Spies is from a French animation studio and it really showed me at a young age, that they love anime and Sailor Moon. TS I couldn't get into. Too much valley girl speaking. Kim Possible is always better anyway.

I like how Guillemot at no point makes mention of any responsibility on his part of his company's successes or lack thereof. Also, nice not so veiled threat to the employees, that'll surely boost morale. Guess he believes in the Musk Extremely Hardcore (aka MEH) style of management.

It's cuz a lot of creatives working in French (and neighboring countries) animation grew up watching anime. French networks were already airing stuff like Dragonball, Saint Seiya, Ranma 1/2, Sailor Moon, Urusei Yatsura, Hokuto no Ken, etc, basically all the big names of the late 80's, early 90's, only a year or less after the Japanese broadcast, and like a decade before Toonami kickstarted anime popularity in the US. Super sentai stuff too, from before Saban turned Zyuranger into Power Rangers.

Following up on the Demo, it seems people are really divided on whether this Forespoken game is gonna be any good. My guess is probably not, as per my demo impressions, but every game manages to click with some people so I'm sure it'll have it's fans too. But I'm seeing more of a potential flop than anything else.

What else is new? I do wish Forspoken the best of luck, but reactions will be mixed at some point upon release.

Oh and Ubisoft CEO has been telling staff it's their responsibility to turn the company's revenue around.
Yeah, well, I mean, it's not like CEO is a leadership position or anything. They just buy paperclips and distribute pizza on Thursdays, right?

But what if....and hear me out here......what if we sell the multiplayer achievements you can't get anymore as.....NFTS? Eh? Eh?

-Some shitty game dev, very likely.

It looks like a perfectly fine AAA game from the trailers and I'm sure it will be very playable and polished and so on. I just don't see anything particularly special about it to excite me.

Look at me and my hottest of the spicy hot takes.

People buy stock in Ubisoft? Jeez wtf were they thinking.

Anyways, regardless of the dude’s history, hypocrisy or whatever he does have a point; especially in some of the other posts he made down -

At the Indie level especially. That’s a month of work and programming costs I’m not looking forward to.

The main issue from a gamer perspective imo is the additive nature of them when the main goal of playing turns into getting achievements/trophies vs just having fun playing the game itself.

Just how TF do shitty people like this get to be in positions to make way more money than the vast majority of people. That really says something about our fucked up society, because it happens way too often.
