Indeed. They probably saw the lukewarm reception and decided maybe it's not quite ready yet.

Or they are trying to monetize the game further.
Want to paint a cannon? That's an MTX. Want to add a cannon? That's an MTX. Want to rename your ship? Better believe that's an MTX.

HAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHHAHA!!!!!
Still working on a way to get a pirate ship to climb a tower, I see.

They changed their policy again and have started knocking down videos left and right for not being "family friendly" enough with things like language.
They're big enough to need lots of money. Sponsors give money. Sponsors are also absolutely desperate not to have their brands associated with negative things.

God, Ubisoft are such a boring company. I can't bring myself to be excited for any of their games anymore, and it feels like that is a sentiment that is echoed across the rest of the market. Ubisoft basically built their business on recycling the same concepts ad nauseum, into basically every genre that they could get their hands on, and now it seems like any goodwill has collectively dried up, and they don't know what to do with themselves anymore.

Hopefully they come out of this a better Ubisoft, but at the same time, I wouldn't be surprised if they were exploring a potential acquisition.

Other than Rayman Legends, I had that same feeling since 2011. Welcome to the club.

The best kind of karma.

Nope.

Who would even buy them or their IPs at this point? EA, or that one company that bought all of the Western Square Enix AAA games?

The Mario + Rabbids games aside, I feel like the last game that Ubisoft made that had a shred of passion behind it, was probably For Honor, but that game is super niche, and really wasn't my thing (and has since been morphed into another Live Service). Other than that, probably the Rayman games, as you say.

I always underestimate how big THQ Nordic's pockets apparently are, so it is a possibility. I would probably rule out Microsoft, Sony, or EA. I would actually guess that a company like Amazon or maybe even Disney would be very interested, though.

The IPs aside, I do genuinely feel like Ubisoft has value within it. The global infrastructure that they have created is immense, and no doubt there is at least some creativity within their many walls. With the right leadership, they are more than likely capable of creating something decent.

But I definitely don't see Ubisoft succeeding if they stay their current course.

Same thing for me. Rayman Legends came out in 2013, and creator of that got outta dodge 2 years ago. Apparently, he was one of the sex offenders working at the company. Well under investigation, but nothing has been followed up as far as I know.

THQ Nordic is the best choice under these circumstances.

You have a more positive outlook than me. They have some, but others have either been run into the ground, or they sit there do nothing, because Ubisoft is afraid, they won't make all the money in the entire universe. Had they not screwed over Suda 51 and Grasshopper Studios, Ubisoft could have been still publishing No More Heroes titles. That was a huge blessing in disguise as Grasshopper pretty have money to develop and publish games themselves. Though they prefer publishing with Marvelous, because Grasshopper has good relationship with the company. See Ubisoft?! This is what happens when you don't be an asshole to other developers. But of course, you never see. Only the green.

The problem is stuff like this.

The dude is actually pretty chill, he's not someone who's super controversial and yet he got "bonked" by Youtube.

Hmmm, interesting.
YouTube really hasn't enforced its own policies since 2008 or 2009. There was a time where they did it more consistently, but ever since they got bought out my google, that became less and less the case as a years went on. Especially if it's a popular YouTuber with a wide demographic. They'll usually let them get away with whatever bull crap. I always bring this up, but IRATEGAMER was one of the first examples of YouTube doing favoritism or being way less punishing. Sure, the dude has a level head now, but he was known for flagging videos that have made any criticisms of him, or "copied" him. When all he was doing was copying AVGN and then sucking at it.

I saw a commercial on youtube for an app called Pink: Team Up. It is an app for gorl gamers looking for male team members for games like overwatch and whatever.

The tagline is "cant find male teammates because they keep calling you a dishwasher. Try Pink a new ap that lets you find teams to win not teams that will roast you."

And honestly i laughed.

Let me guess, if guy want to join they have to pay a fee or something and it's like 99.99999% guy on there wondering why there's no cute girl joining.
