Redfall, to get back to the general discussion, I never had any expectation for (Color me a skeptic, but when a studio known for one type of game more or less goes and tries to shift genres, its usually a rough one). But I wasn't really expecting a studio that is basically attached at the hip to the ID Engine crew to fail at optimization.
The worse is that the selling point is about following the "Tanta" story. The writer thought they were doing a clever thing in the story by having all magical ruler that are initially presented as evil actually be good people that were corrupted. Except they didn't bother to actual make sure they established them as good so you constantly find background info about them before they got corrupted and they were all horrible ruler. The worse is they all get corrupted but slowly, so that at first they're fully conscious of whats happening, and yet they don't bother telling their people, so everyone get caught completely unaware when they start going crazy and slaughtering citizens. But w/e, in Tanta we trust, if you're a moron.
The game entire story/script really feel like the initial draft was accidentally used in the final version.
VGC it's trying to pull some bull crap, and gave it a four out of five!
