Yeh, I know. Will have to wait. Being stuck at home while the holes in my belly heal provides excellent opportunity to knock one or two of those big rpgs off my backlog.
Robotic surgery to remove one of my kidneys happened. Last week. The cysts that infest my kidneys had grown so voluminous, and my kidneys with them, that getting a transplant was no longer possible. I simply didn't have the physical space in my abdomen....what happened?0
Meaning the biggest of thr two had to go. So I now have a 6-7 cm cut and a handful of holes in my belly healing up. Tho I suppose that is still preferable over the 30 cm cut traditional surgery would've required.
I'm fine btw. On my feet, albeit still pretty sore.
Bond so cucked in current times that I don't even watch video to see if gameplay sucks or not. Don't know how people muster enthusiasm for the next movies either.

He would be a man of taste before becoming 00, and that kind of fashion worn in so many places is of the era.
Actually so dumb that they thought what worked for Batman Begins would work for Casino Royale, like James Bond never put on a nice suit before becoming 00, as if it's like Wayne putting on the bat suit for the first time. Nah, Bond wasn't at all cultured and classy before, needed Vesper to show him, bleh. And then in the next movies he wore suits as often as he didn't, and seldom with a bowtie, because he is just that dated and they still won't put him in the 1950s to '60s where he belongs.

I don't think this is the first time a game's release has broken the Steam servers, and I'm pretty sure the cause is the same as it was those times: everybody wants to be the first one to have it, and in these cases 'everybody' is a bigger number than anticipated.

First time in a long time that a single game caused this. I think the steam deck and Index caused issues, but for the massive problems that Steam had, usually that is caused at the start of a big sale. But last time that happened was still years ago.
Against my better judgement, I watched the video. I should have stopped watching after he said "Backseat driver."
Climbs around like a monkey like in Uncharted because we've lost real platforming mechanics that might make players fail.
I did not see him swap shoulders once, suggesting the camera will always stay cramped on one shoulder. Shoulder swapping (with crouch and prone) is better than this sticky cover system because it lets you take cover even when that cover is far away and doesn't immobilize you so and make you such a sitting duck. I would use the button they use for cover for anything else. Edit: In fact, I'm pretty sure there is no shoulder swapping because when he leaves cover moving leftward the cam swaps to the right shoulder again.
Too much boring driving. In Everything or Nothing the driving before the action at least acquainted you with the level that you would flee or pursue in. Here those roads and streets were not backtracked through, which makes me wonder why they didn't simply make it a cutscene. I hate this shift in game design of telling almost the whole story through gameplay. Also too many high jumps with the car for my taste. You don't wanna rely on that too much in a game aiming for this kind of semi-realism because everybody knows how resilient suspension systems and tires really are.
Too many red exploding objects. Way too many. Action is too wacky for Bond, far too over the top. Like watching that chase from Team America where everything explodes. Setpieces look even less organic than in Uncharted, like the part where he runs into the big white truck. Partly because it does these things with more camera switches than Uncharted. In Uncharted it's more how the animations connect the two parts of the chase that make it look bad, how awkwardly Nathan Drake is redirected, but here they don't even try doing it as one shot, which makes it look as if Bond should get splattered by the white truck.
Sneaky Bond normally does not crouch-walk, fuck off.

Long answer: the game was announced on February 2019 and the devs posted regular updates until December 2019, after which followed 3 years of silence with not so much as a tweet until the game was announced by Xbox as coming within 12 months of June 2022. It took the devs 11 months to confirm that date... and in the same tweet also announced the game was delayed indefinitely.
With no clear indication of a new release date but the belief that surely it wouldn't be much longer the community started hyping every single possible game event for further news. Establishing this see-saw routine of constant hype and disappointment, hype and disappointment.
That was a little over 2 years ago.
Silksong being delayed again on the day it actually released drove some folks over the edge.
