AC Shadows is out (whoop-die-fucking-do), and the reviews are here.

Apparently this games is alright in terms of story? a bit of a slow burner though before it actually gets good.

Stealth actually feels like stealth (at least when you play as Naoe), with improved enemy AI

Also no more bloathed map. Apparently it plays more like AC Mirage, and not like Odyssey or Valhalla.




BBBUUUTTT it's also getting its ass kicked by an indie game

You feel the same way about System Shock 2 that I do about any Souls-like, so I can't really criticize you (and your views are hardly invalid). But I will say that when I played Bioshock, it felt to me like "Babby's First System Shock 2"- a puddle compared to an ocean.

A puddle that doesn't start with a bunch of out-of-context choices that don't tell you what any of them actually do for you or let you change them in the middle of the process, and also doesn't penalize you for making the wrong choices while giving you no ability to make the right ones on purpose. Not that System Shock 2 isn't mechanically better than Bioshock in other areas, but IMO SS2's character creation is so bad that it sinks the rest of the game single-handedly.

I should not need a step-by-step guide to not make the game harder than it needs to be by accident in a way that can only be fixed by starting the game over entirely.

It is for me. I welcome the lo-fi Japanese soundtrack that's integral and connected with the gameplay. You can only do 80s synth or death metal/butt-rock so many time before it gets old.

Okay, if this is real, it might be one of the smartest decision from Xbox; imagine playing your steam library games, including PS Studio games on your Xbox console.

Still doesn’t solve the core issue of the lack of first party games, but it would be a nice deal for those who have Steam account but has no pc with high enough specs
