Well, that was pleasant. Opened up Steam today to find I have Total War: Warhammer III in my library and I'm asking myself how I got this. Looked at my purchase history and Humble Bundle purchase history. Nope. Looked in discussion under that game and, they're saying they're giving it to people with I and II already (no DLC) this month. I have 1 in Steam. II is installed in Epic but, got the game anyway. Some say it is the best Total War ever. Giving it a shot.

If you brought 1 or 2, they recently made it so you can play sandbox mode in 3, you probably wont have access to campaign (but nobody play those so w/e). Essentially they're moving to a system where the base game is more or less free and they make money selling the various race and lord.

So total warhammer is fun cause you can have all these crazy matchup between all the race and the like 200+ or something different unit, rather than just slightly different human of the historical one.

There are also rumors of this acquisition will cause the subscription price to rise. While it's only a rumor, I definitely think it will most likely to happen.

I mean just look at what MS is doing after buying Acti-Blizz; Nothing but price increase on everything
Yeah, and after all of that money pissed away, wtf did it get them? They’re basically one foot out the industry already. Good riddance really.

I've heard it said that the likely intention of this purchase was absorbing a media (film/TV) competitor, and that videogames will at best be an afterthought. This could mean that we see theatrical runs for movies limited to a few weeks before being pulled out to run on Netflix's streaming service.

As far as the WB Gaming arm is concerned, who knows? Netflix might actually put effort into absorbing it into Netflix games, it might just shrug and say "do whatever it is you do", or it could start parceling off IPs and studios like Embracer Group did.

I think it's funny that these cartoon characters can have the same haircuts for twenty years of their lives.

I think it's funny that you consider that a cartoon character. Humor is subjective, I guess.

Kotaku reports that WB's gaming section was not a factor for Netflix in determining the value of the company as a whole.

Not the most comforting of news for the future of WB Games.

Hasn't WB Games been pumping out nothing but flops besides the Harry Potter game for a while now?

either way the properties are going to be far more valuable.

They also own Netherrealm Studios...which recently botched Mortal Kombat 1, but has otherwise been doing solid enough.

Acti-Blizz has responded to BO7 backlash:

TL;DR For those of you who wants your sights/ears free of their bullshit:

  • DERP, We are aware the game didn't meet the expectations for some of you
  • asddfgsdfg, there will be free weekends and years of support
  • No more back-to-back releases between BO and MW series (I.e. The next game won't be BO8)
  • Meaningful innovation, trust us!
I mean I guess it's a start. Not like the game shitty forced-online co-op campaign, rampant of cheaters, Stolen arts or lazy AI arts /s!

Regarding 3rd point, that is not stopping them from yearly-releasess.

Acti-Blizz has responded to BO7 backlash:
I'm reminded of when EA/Bioware released a survey about the backlash to Mass Effect 3, but instead of a short-answer section, they instead only gave a single set of radio buttons that very noticeably didn't include what most people were actually saying was their problem with the game's ending.
