Funnily enough Konami announced a new JRPG in the latest state of play. Totally new IP. And it actually looked pretty great. The bits of gameplay gave me Tales of vibes. It was the last thing I would ever expect.
Yeah, but it's a game made after 1999, so it will not be good enough for Ezekiel. There will be something that's wrong with it, or similar to another IP, and therefore not as unique as every single platformer that copied Sonic/Mario.

The story is about some type of evil rain phenomenon that turns people into monsters. It’s interesting enough and especially from someone like Konami who I had zero expectations from. At this point I’m kinda treating it like a new game by a newly established studio. And if it was anyone else I’d be at least this excited for that game lol.

Those are actually pretty damn good number all things considered, Marathon might not get culled in 1 month.
It’s bungie, I expect at the very least that any game they make will feel pretty satisfying to play, if in small bursts.

***** please, you don't own a 400 year old term just because you made something popular, Sandfall. I'm guessing this is some overzealous trademark lawyer. If not, Sandfall's inner Ubisoft may be showing.
Statement from Sandfall:

So let me get this straight; your legal team, without talking about this with the rest of the leadership figures or stakeholders, attempted the lawsuit all on their own initiative?

Either you guys have a legal team that is shady af, leaderships who suck at their jobs and not recognizing what was happening sooner, or you guys knew about the whole time, didn't expect the backlash, and now are lying. Which is it?

Oh yeah, the trailer that basically started with Death Stranding's Timefall, now I remember.

After looking a little more into this, it wasn't a lawsuit. The lawyer sent a cease and desist.

And a mere cease and desist, while still scary to be on the receiving end off as an artist, is not something that would require permission from management. That's just a trademark lawyer's job. They have boiler plate letters for that, it's like 5 minutes of work to send out.

The fault here is that the lawyer didn't do their due diligence and probaby jumped the gun based on that comic including clair obscur in its title.

Which Sandfall management recognized and rectified, and hopefully also made that lawyer take a crash course into what their IP actually entails.

It's absolutely embarrassing for Sandfall, and some dumb shit that shouldn't have happened, but overall not that big a deal.

Yeah, game's called Rev. NOiR, sufficiently incoherent, befitting of a jrpg.

With a 73/100 critic score, Marathon is the lowest rated Bungie game since the original Destiny.

Okay, my bad on not realizing it was a Cease and Desist.

Update from the comic book creator:

In the end, I am glad to see things wrapping up without anyone feeling bitter (well maybe except the lawyer who got trigger-happy).

Now only if more organizations were nice like this with the brand names; I'm looking at you, Monster Energy Drinks!

Is monster energy as bad about it as monster cables were?

Man, Nintendo lawyers must be having a field day! The player character even kinda looks like Link from BOTW/TOTK.

So now we might see a three-way war between this game, Palworld, and Nintendo?
And I thought Palworld was blatant with some of its Pal designs, not to mention everything else. That is literally just Pikachu with a different hairdo. That is just BotW/TotK Link. There's a FF14 Aetheryte in there too. What the hell is this?

Zelda is in there too, along with Roadhog from Overwatch. Kinda funny that the characters that don't seem to be direct ripoffs are all big booby waifus.
