Eh, never been a fan of the MCU, but I don't think I'm their target audience anyway. I would say I'm more of a DC person, in that the first Suicide Squad film and Birds of Prey are something I can rewatch.

Still an MCU fan, but I rarely rewatch many of their movies anymore. Especially the really earlier ones that had not aged well, or just too boring to sit through nowadays by comparison. I only bother to pick the ones that stand out the most. The other reason being is that I just don't have time for that. Not that I had too much time for it back then. If it's something I need to rewatch that badly and I don't remember, I just YouTube it. At least with the dcu, it's easier to rewatch stuff or not have to go through so much just understand that's happening in the next film. Ironic as it sounds. For all the problems in DC you had, which was not that many, at least nearly every individual film stood out in its own way.

Tempered expectations are the optimal, recommended expectations to approach all entertainment with. 😉

(I should never be allowed online with my phone that late ever again, god damn👀) Would've thought to add a warning for the amount of plot given away in it too at least. 😔

Just gonna sneak in this A24 trailer for new Ari Aster film while here...

I prefer the BIA trailer. It showed so much and yet I have no idea what its about and Im here for it.

Already people are meme-ing and turning it into a joke, and I'm finding all of them to be hilarious. And that's coming from someone who's been a believer his entire life.

All that aside, story of Jesus does indeed wrap up after his resurrection, appearing before his disciples, going up into the heaves, yada yada yada. He only appears as a spiritual sign, vision for Apostle Paul, and in John's dreams, aka Revelations.

Basically, he has no physical appearance from that point. I wonder what kind of plots they can possibly go with, unless it's a prequel?

Oh..unless the movie makers are part of a heresy that has very different accounts of what Jesus did, which could be interesting. I rather doubt it, though.

They can have fun with it. Not going through that shit again. No thank you. I am a man of faith, but that does not mean I'm obligated to see this movie at all. We already know ultra conservatives are going to have a field day with this movie and label anybody heretics or "not good Christians" for not paying to see the movie.

Double Toasted actually likes a movie. It's getting good reception from what I hear. I might watch it this weekend.

Trouble brews yonder...

Justin Roiland - the co-creator of Rick and Morty, and head of High on Life studio Squanch Games - has been charged with domestic violence in relation to a 2020 incident.

That's according to NBC News, which obtained a copy of the criminal complaint filed against Roiland through the Orange County Superior Court, charging him with "one felony count of domestic battery with corporal injury and one felony count of false imprisonment by menace, violence, fraud and/or deceit".

The complaint relates to an incident which took place on or around 19th January 2020, involving "an anonymous Jane Doe who was dating Roiland at the time." Roiland is said to have been charged in May 2020 then arrested and released on a $50,000 USD bond in August of the same year. He was then arraigned in October 2020 and pleaded not guilty to both charges.

More than a dozen court hearings have taken place since then, and Roiland is due to appear in court Thursday for a pre-trial hearing - although no trial date is currently set.

A protective order filed in October 2020 and lasting until October 2023 prohibits Roiland from harassing, threatening, surveilling, or going within 100 feet of the person named in the document. He was also required to turn in any firearms he owned or possessed.

NBC says many court records relating to the case remain sealed.

Roiland is perhaps best known as the co-creator of Adult Swim's Rick and Morty TV show, which aired its sixth season last September. However, he also founded video games studio Squanch Games in 2016, which released VR title Accounting+ in 2017 and first-person shooter High on Life toward the end of last year.

So the Golden Globes happened the other night -

A couple highlights -
Hopefully he returns to make more movies. Looks like he’s also got a new standup gig this year!

What a class act. Good to see someone so humble and gracious in the industry. And he’s really just getting started.

Corner of No and Where
Call me crazy, but maybe the guy who produced, wrote, stared as and based the character off his own life, Rick, maybe just maybe has anger issues?

But next you're gonna tell me Grr Martin writing multiple scenes of brothers raping their sisters and extended scenes of underage girls taking long, stinky, squirty diarrhea shits in the woods might have some unresolved issues with women.
