Yeah, that's one of the most asinine things I've ever heard and its gonna appealed quick as shit.
It's kinda more specific than that, as the court case was specifically about advertising a beloved (apparently) actor who wasnt in the final product, so shouldn't really be a problem for most trailers;

Wilson sought to address that concern, saying the false advertising law applies only when a “significant portion” of “reasonable consumers” could be misled.

“The Court’s holding is limited to representations as to whether an actress or scene is in the movie, and nothing else,” the judge wrote, holding that based on the “Yesterday” trailer, it was plausible that viewers would expect de Armas to have a significant role in the film.

Oh I read it. And frankly its still bullshit. They paid $4 to rent the goddamn thing; most sensible people would have shrugged their shoulders and got on with their fucking lives because a minor role was cut but left in some advertising material. Movies aren't chemical compounds; Ana de Armis being cut from the movie didn't cause it to become poison and hurt these people in a tangible way.

Right, ok yes it's obviously small fry and not more important that literal corporate murder obvs, but those are two unrelated issues which involve different courts and different lawyers, this doesn't take away chances from anyone working to hold corporations responsible for mass poisoning. Plus the only losers in this ruling are marketing companies, and who seriously gives a fuck about those soulless manipulative assholes? Why defend them?

Hopefully he makes a fully recovery. Some more details on his "horsepower ranch" -

Sounds like a pretty standup guy. Wondering if the six acres figure is a misprint though, because there wouldn't be much room for a house or land with that size fleet of vehicles on it. For reference, Elvis's Graceland sits on more than twice that and is tucked away in a pretty busy part of town.

Didn’t take long to see that yup, people actually still care about Avatar after all.

Was “We’re In the Money” originally a Disney song? Probably not but might as well be.
Fuck, I forgot that Avatar is technically a Disney property. So does that make Neytiri a Disney princiess? I ask, because since she can talk to animals, spends her company around dwarf-sized aliens, and whose recent film entry is a Polynesian-inspired locale, she's halfway there already. 0_0

Woohoo Netflix. What else ya got lined up to replace it?
It was OK. I can live fine without a Season 2 as they left room for one, but only if you felt like it.

I thought he spent way too much on T2. Then, why make Titanic. The boat sinks. And he spent a record breaking fortune on that. Avatar went gonzo on spending. And now this and every time? They've made bank (we can predict this one will do great: pretty much even already with no signs of letting up). Interesting, originally they were worried to do relative low 1st weekend box office and made the "excuse" that everyone wants to see it in Imax and are waiting for the hype to die down, then they will see it and it will make big bucks for a long time with strong legs. Well, a good explanatino if not really an excuse. Me and mine will see this in IMax. We're waiting for the hype to die down and get good seats without feeling rushed.

One of those campaigns that make you feel like you've already have seen the movie. Which, sadly, actually works for enough people to create hits. 1st time I really noticed was 1992's "Hand that Rocks the Cradle". They show, in the trailer, the baddie get it for Pete's sake and it made $88 million on a budget that was likely 1/10th that.

I'd seen a lot of noise about Megan for a week or two. I watched the trailer out of curiosity. It looks atrocious so I get the impression they were or maybe still are (I've tuned it out.) trying to do some viral marketing to drum up interest. Wouldn't surprise me if doesn't take off. No one on Reddit seems to care.

Something, something, then everything changed when the fire nation attacked, something, something.
This mother-fucker. He had the audacity to sue Nickelodeon just because his movie and their show share the same name, even though Avatar The Last Airbender came out first. But now he's more than happy to start ripping them off. Fuck off Cameron.

Reddit don't mean shit to me. Last I checked, they're not the metric be all of something that's going to become successful or not. I'm not implying you're saying that, but they can still screw off.
