You know, this reminds me I never got my damn key for that Age of Empires III pack that I paid a whole DIME for. Maybe I'll think about it again tomorrow and actually expend a little effort to see if they've assigned me a key. Or not. I have a feeling the same thing might happen with this one.

Does Steam ever have $0.99 games? Do they ever have $0.10 games?

See, every time Steam is brought up people talk about the great deals. I wonder if we are going to start hearing about the great deals from GFWL from those same people.
Seconded. I don't know what people are on about when it comes to the so-called issues with the GFW framework. I downloaded it when they did the ten cent AoE III sale, and didn't have any problems whatsoever.
Well to be fair, not everyone has the exact same computer with the exact same setup as you. If the program itself was solid and interfered with as little as possible this wouldn't be a problem, but I guess the opposite is true.

I'll admit I haven't bothered with GFW much, but you can't dismiss the problems with that program as "I don't have them, therefore they don't exist."

If the marketplace website still isn't available in your region, the client will work.

Not even this is enough to make me create an account for GFWL.
Of course. People who have never used it are going to talk shit about it.
I have used it. I got Dirt 2 in the steam sale. I attempted to create an account and every time I tried it started to update. Then it just stayed like that until I closed the game. It did that every time I did it.

Fat meh.

Are there still gamers left somewhere who haven't played DX yet, but still want to?

I really don't get all this hate. First off, as other people have pointed out, this isn't Live, this is the Marketplace. Fair difference there. Second, I could easily write a GFW FAIL-style article about Steam, talking about bandwidth usage, failed credit card acceptance, train wreck customer service and the like. Everybody has a bad experience with something. Is GFW Live a mess? Yes. Is it unusable? Not at all. Do either of these points have anything to do with the Marketplace? I don't think so.

In any event, it's over! If you were lucky enough to get it, then you have much rockage in your pants! And if not, well, better luck next time.

Actually, I just checked and apparently it's not over. It's supposed to be but it's still checking out at 99 cents. Hey, whatever, get it while it's hot.

GWFL or Marketplace or whatever the fuck it is, offering this game for a dollar, is not 1) news-worthy 2) a good deal.
See, it's hard to convince people to take you seriously when you say things like "Deus Ex is not worth a dollar." It just kills your credibility.

Deus Ex was on the Marketplace for a dollar. You said it's not a good deal. So...

I'm not saying there can't be any problems... but my computer is FAR from being an optimized gaming rig. And I have yet to have a single problem. So it's kinda weird to me when folks who can run next-gen games left and right are having issues with this.
