Jason gave a small smile.

"Don't worry about it mate, I nearly shat myself on my first one. I presume you've done free-fall drops before though? It's just like them, 'cept you wait a bit longer before pulling the cord."

He saw Myles dealing out cards out of the corner of his eye.

"What's your story anyhow Eric?"

Reservist boots never left ground.

Reserve duty blows he thought to himself, but hopefully everything goes off with out a hitch so we don't have to go in and back them up..

He meticulously cleaned his father's old M4oa1 sniper rifle, it was the old rifle based off the Remington r700 that tough neck Marines first used in 'Nam. It wasn't quite the hand made m4OA3 rifle the marines started using after the turn of the millennium, but it was still a good and reliable rifle. Hell, it was the rifle he learned to shoot on, the Rifle he scored his first kill with. He was formally trained in the Marines on the A3, but it would never take the place of his old A1. He slapped the bolt into place, and placed the gun on the table in front of him. His boonie hat covered the scar that tore across his head.

He kicked off his boots, stripped off his BDU top, and dropped onto his cot. He was going to get some rest, the mission would start in 6 hours, then he would have to be ready to pull the attack teams out of the shit.

Let this be the one mission Murphey forgets to attend

"My story? Hah!"

Eric laughed, yet his face showed no amusement.

"I was a pretty normal kid, until one day. Some suits came down to the university I was in, and they forced me into service in a unit noone has ever heard of, to fight someone elses war, and my family probably thinks I'm dead."

Rios was sitting in the plane, almost alone. He liked time to think.
Hmmm... right handed, dark hair beard... hmmm interesting suit. Ak-47 and magnum, this guy's alright.

He mumbles to himself as he looks at a picture of his target.
Just wait 'till he meets ma' baby

He said as he gave his rocket launcher a little stroke.

OI! Captain! How long until the first drop off? I'm getting bored here!
'Researched almost the entire island for pete's sake!'
He thought to himself as he closed his computer and started double checking his weaponry.

Sorry for the late post, got alittle busy. I will post frequently from now. :)

Myles looked up at Sebastian, with a closed-eye smirk. "Heh, that's like asking how long before these guys start winning." He looked down at the deck, shuffling it. "You gents owe me quite a lot already. When we get back to base, you gents are buying me quite a few ginger ales." He addressed the confused looks around him. "I never drink, your judgement slips. You lose your ability to discern right from wrong." He looks up again. "Oh yeah, and Vase. I'll talk to you about your favor later."

Joshua looked at the group cheerfully dealing cards, and cracking jokes. He used to do that, he used to be able to let loose, but not anymore. His squad dead because of one little distraction, he wouldn't let it happen again. He closed his eyes and began to sleep and dream troubled dreams.

"Hit me."

Eric had forgotten his nervousness by now, and was enjoying the game.

He checked his card, a ten.

"20! I hold."

Sorry about the drop off in posting last night, I couldn't connect to the Escapist not long after midnight so I decided to go and get some sleep.

"No shit..."

Jason brow creased into a frown.

"I didn't think the WIO conscripted full stop, let alone into Special Forces. Sorry mate. But anyhow, stick with us and we'll make sure you get out of it alright."

He turned his attention to the game.

Wow... not good...

"Hmmm, hit me."

An 8 came up.

"Might as well hold there I guess."

He heard Sebastian's question and looked over to him.

"I asked the pilot just after take-off, we should be at the drop zone in about 6 hours."

"Hmm, I fold," sighed Vase as he looked at his cards, he looked to Rios and Sebastian sitting alone. He attempts to wave them over, shouting "come and join in guys!" over the engine roar.

Rios sang to himself as he cleaned his gun.

"There will always be a spot open," laughed Vase as he watched Rios clean his gun, "you can't do that for 6 hours straight can you ?" he asked.

Jason chuckled.

"That's why I've got the upgrade mate. Gotta love the reliability of this thing."

He patted the HK 416.

"How come you're carrying that thing around anyways? Looks like a bit of a relic, no offense intended."

Am I right in thinking it's Coming Undone by Korn?

Myles looked at Jason. "Now Jason, there's nothin' wrong with relics." With this, he pulls out his revolver, and spins it.

The Load-Master taps Damien's helmet and holds up 2 fingers, "2 minutes till your drop!" he shouts over the engine roar.

"Some relics are better than new stuff I'll give you that," smiles Vase, "put some of them need to be kept in museums," he laughs looking at the revolver.

"Fair point, but I'd never keep something sentimental at the expense of reliability, though revolvers'll never get old on that front."

He saw the Load-Master give Damien his two-minute heads up and looked at the cards in his hand.

"Best keep a tight grip on these lads", he grinned, "I'd hate to lose my winning hand."

He looked over to Damien.

"Good luck mate! See you on the ground!"

"Museums, Vase, are there so we can learn from the past." Myles looked towards Jason. "I'd say it's helping me do that without being behind some dust-proof glass case."

Damien gave Jason a wan smile and nodded. He looked unusually pale.

Gathering up the raft, he stood up and headed for the bay door. The Load Master tapped his helmet again. "30 seconds!" he shouted.

The bay doors opened. A rush of air burst into the area, causing those cards that weren't being tightly gripped to fly around the bay.

The Load Master counted on his fingers while shouting

"3...2...1...GO!"

Damien jumped. A rush of air hit his face and knocked the wind out of him. He stuggled to regain his bearings and looked down at the ground. The blue trail of the river, flanked by a smear of green, was getting closer with each passing second. He gripped his parachute cord hard, silently counting in his head.

Finally, when he could bear it no longer, he pulled the cord. The parachute burst open above him, causing him to jolt. He fixed his eyes on the landing point and silently began to steer the chute down to the ground.
