I really don't understand why they even bother posting shit like this. People are gonna post spoilers no matter what you say, people will stream it, react to it, review it, clip it, and more and there isn't shit anyone can do about it.
Review embargo ends this Thursday at Noon EST.
Because they're afraid they're not going to get all the money in the world, "art", or they only want things spoiled on their pathetic terms. I say let the babies have their bottles. I can't get the game anyway, due to financial reasons and cancel my pre-order for some extra money. Which doesn't matter much, because that game will be everywhere. I got Bayonetta 3, so I'm good for a long while. Besides, Gungrave and Sonic come out in the same month, but I'm looking more so forward to the former.I really don't understand why they even bother posting shit like this. My inkling is they have to for PR reasons put out some kind of PSA to sort of wash their hands of any responsibility for whatever happens between now and release. Because chances are there will be inevitable leaks and the typical YouTuber grandstanding shitshow that will follow. It happens every time with highly anticipated releases and I can’t imagine how frustrating it must be for them, knowing how irritating it already is for mere consumers.I really don't understand why they even bother posting shit like this. Frankly I never understood the mentality of having to avoid spoilers in order to enjoy a thing. Has anyone ever not seen or played a game they were hyped for because someone or something revealed a key detail about it to them? The problem with spoilers is that just hearing something like Joel dies, isn't inherently a spoiler as you cannot spoil something without context.
This is why trailers work so well, they are nothing but spoilers but because the viewer doesn't have enough context then the enjoyment of the plot isn't ruined. Fuck the original FF7's trailer spoiled Aerith's death but you don't know shit about it because you had no context to the characters. At the end of the day a spoiler is just a tease to what is happening and why in a given story.
We see Freya attacking Kratos in the trailer right? So does that spoil a boss fight? A story moment? Well yes because now we will expect her to appear anytime we ride that sled thing through the snow, thus the surprise of her showing up is ruined. However in the actual game we don't know what's happening there, because perhaps we've already fought her before that moment, and instead of beating her we flee on the sled, thus of course she shows up in that moment which means it's an obvious moment in the game where the player wont even consider "oh i saw this part in the trailer".
Yeah but it is irritating for consumers because there is some stigma on spoilers that has really gone too far. Ain't nobody gonna sit there and make you watch a whole playthrough. And clips on Twitter can only be a few seconds and you dont have to watch them neither. It happens every time with highly anticipated releases and I can’t imagine how frustrating it must be for them, knowing how irritating it already is for mere consumers.
Better yet, avoid them all together, if a person is that invested in a game, movie, TV show, book, or web show.all you gotta do is scroll past the clip, past the reddit post, don't click the article, don't watch the youtube video.
I mean I do understand that you can't avoid everything, because shit can appear on reddit, or twitter, or you favorite youtuber might post a video. So at LEAST possible screenshots are unavoidable to a degree. But the point stands that you don't have to watch the clips, or click the articles or whatever. At least until you're ready.Better yet, avoid them all together, if a person is that invested in a game, movie, TV show, book, or web show.
