Practically any point and click adventure, with the exception of Zack & Wiki. Zelda games rarely have any replay value either.
Its not that I like re-skins, I honestly don't much care for them. If there are any, I generally stick to the original (example I almost always choose Ryu over Ken or Akuma.) I'm just saying I started getting used to the larger rosters. I'd probably like BlazBlue a little more if it had a roster about the size of Guilty Gear X2. To me that's about the right size for a roster. Guilty Gear doesn't run into a "clone" problem. I hope you can get what I'm trying to say, I'm terrible at explaining, I tend to run around in circles, lol.Arisato-kun said:Actually you might not have to wait long. There are rumors that the third game will be the last one. Can't say I understand your philosophy as I will always prefer different characters to re-skins but I'll respect it.
So you're saying that the amount of non-clones isn't sufficient? The game needs a bigger roster overall, regardless of the clone fighters right? That's what I'm getting.elcamino41383 said:Its not that I like re-skins, I honestly don't much care for them. Welcome to the escapist!VikingSteve said:Lots of games. All of the Final Fantasy games, with FF5 and 6 being the lone exceptions. The God of War games, Fallout 3 (pretty much any RPG except Oblivion), Assassin's Creed (first one, I couldn't finish the 2nd one because everytime I played it I practically fell asleep), Spyro the Dragon's series, the Red Faction series... so many. They all just suck after I beat them... I guess knowing takes away all the fun.
Of the games that I could replay over and over for eternity though, there are a few. Half Life, Half Life 2, the MGS series, Oblivion, Syphon Filter series, Crash Bandicoot 2, Resident Evil 0-3, Company of Heroes, Soldier of Fortune, Quake 2. A couple more, but I can't list all of them.
You had the former part right. Told you I'm bad with explaining, lol. Less/no clones, more original characters. I think King of Fighters 2006 did a pretty decent job at the no clones thing with lots of characters at the same time...Arisato-kun said:So you're saying that the amount of non-clones isn't sufficient? I still recommend you give CS a shot. It's set to be the most balanced fighter since Guilty Gear XX: Accent Core+.
Oh, Gun? I remember that. It was a great barrel of fun, and for exactly the same reasons, I'm going to say Read Dead Revolver. No, not Redemption you silly fools, Revolver.Furburt said:GUN.
Remember that game? It was a sandbox third person cowboy game developed by the makers of Tony Hawk, and when it came out, it was actually pretty good. The shooting was good, the gameplay was tight, the lands were varied, and the only real problems with it were that the map was quite small and that the story moved far too fast for its own good. But all in all, it was good. The first time.
I recently tried to replay it, and it's almost impossible. Despite being a sandbox game, it's depressingly linear, and there really isn't as much to do as it seemed the first time.
Not completely. By my second run through I had bought all the extra slots so even with the 3 plants I was stuck with I still had enough open to select the plants I needed. Like the first twenty levels can be cleared with only spikes, onions, some sun producing plant(s), and maybe a wallnut or two...Teeth Kicker said:Hard to agree with Plants Vs. Zombies. Playing it again is pretty alright because you're limited to what plants you can use on the second run through so it can get interesting, still pretty easy however. I could personally say any Grand Theft Auto game. Love em' all, can never pick them up after I've gotten through the story and side missions.Assassin Xaero said:Plants Vs Zombies. I love that game and all the mini games and stuff, but it was so hard to go through it again to unlock the Yeti Zombie achievement. After the first time it is just hard to play because it is pretty much the same strategy constantly...
Very story driven?SteelStallion said:I'm going to throw a really surprising one out: Mass Effect 2.
I don't know why, I played Mass Effect 1 a few times over, but I just can't bring myself to play Mass Effect 2 over again. I get half way through and then just get bored and move on to another game. Despite the large amount of content, it's very very linear, and you can go through most of the conversation options in your first go. I went Paragon the first time, so the only thing there is for me in a second playthrough are some Renegade actions/lines of dialogue.
There really is surprisingly low replay value in that game, at least for me. But it was a fantastic 40 hour first play through, no doubt.
Gotta agree with you there. I rented that a long time ago and played through it. I can't imagine myself doing it again.Furburt said:GUN.
I agree with the King of Fighters comparison. I'm hoping XIII will follow that tradition instead of being complete crap like XII.elcamino41383 said:You had the former part right. OMG XII was abysmal. I got it and brought it back that same day! I'll give BB:CS a shot somewhere down the line. I really DID like CT but like I said the lack of characters got to me, but then Tekken 6 just ruined my care for a lot of fightersArisato-kun said:I agree with the King of Fighters comparison. Still, rent it or something. ;D I think you'll be impressed. On top of the more characters thing they changed certain mechanics to make it more balanced like Guilty Gear.
