Every time I have tried to use Opera, it never really worked that well, same with Chrome, I went messing with a lot of operating systems after getting sick with Firefox bloating and nothing ever worked as well as a fresh install of Firefox.Major_Tom said:Exactly. And everyone (who uses Firefox) is so impressed. I don't know any Opera user who switched to Chrome, but plenty of Firefox users (and I converted a few to Opera).Kwil said:I take it you haven't used Opera, because Chrome's still copying it's innovations from 5 years ago.
Well, by that standard Operas design team must be the best of the bunch, seeing that most of the features modern browsers spout today (with the expection of addons, to which opera came notably late. But the big O had most of the common addon features built-in and managed to stay fast and slim, so make of that what you will...) were first developed/implemented by Opera and then subsequently copied by addon-makers for other browsers or directly by the various browser devs...Greg Tito said:[...]and the moveable tabs lining the top of the screen are just as convenient as they were when I first downloaded it. How good is Chrome's design? Well, if both IE and Firefox are aping it, then the Google Chrome team must be on to something.[...]
Good for you, man. Have you tried Nightly? Updated at least once a day (often more).ThePuzzldPirate said:Every time I have tried to use Opera, it never really worked that well, same with Chrome, I went messing with a lot of operating systems after getting sick with Firefox bloating and nothing ever worked as well as a fresh install of Firefox.Major_Tom said:Exactly. My search has landed me with Aurora and have been using it for the last year, while technically still Firefox, haven't had any issues with it.
No, I didn't but do know about it, it was random on which one I tried and I picked Aurora first, have you tried both? is Nightly better?Sud0_x said:Good for you, man. Have you tried Nightly? I've used it for >9months and I have had ZERO stability issues. Which was totally unexpected.
At the time I was looking for alternatives to Firefox because it was becoming less reliable.

What is this "Fire Fox" you speak of? Never heard of it.enzilewulf said:..also people still use Internet Explorer and Fire Fox?
.....pshh hipsters.
Oh yea, don't get me wrong, I use Firefox for its plug-ins too. There are just some things that Chrome cannot do. However, I find Chrome to be a LOT faster and able to work way more smoothly than FF and other browsers can.octafish said:Firefox still wins for me because of the plug-ins. It may be bordering on bloat but Firefox has a functionality (for me) that Chrome doesn't have (yet).
