This game just keeps sounding better and better. I cry myself to sleep every night knowing that had the game not been delayed, I'd be playing it now...or it'd be damn close to coming out.

But then I wake up in the morning and man up and find somethign else to play for the next three or four months.

Fucking YES PLEASE.

So psyched for this game, I loved the skill system in GTA:SA, it's nice to see it making a return (sort of).

So a mobster is more experienced with a gun than a ex-solider? The logic seems legit.
Pilots are not the Infantry, they dont know how to tear down a M240 or M2 HMG.

So, yea, someone that possibly uses guns more than say someone who pretty much only flies would know more about it.
And what? Mobsters are infantry?

Like anyone in the military, you still need to know how to use a gun, it is the basis of their core training so they still learn ground combat because god fobid if a pilot crashes behind enemy lines.

ffs, I'll go one step further. In the military, you're trained as an infantry solider first.
Oh that is just all kinds of wrong I am and come from a long line of service members and I am the only one that got more then basic M9 service pistol training. You get trained in being an expert in a very limited field in the service. I could tell you more about how to rip apart a steam turbine and put it back together but know bugger all about the majority of infantry tactics. A pilot can make his bird dance and do things that physics just gets angry about but won't know how to use an M-16 because 1 its not important to his field of expertise and 2 training on multiple platforms in expensive and pointlessly redundant. This is also assuming that the pilot in question was enlisted first which in all likelihood he was not and that means its even less likely that he has anything more then basic firearms training

I absolutely hate how people compare any RPG elements to Skyrim as though it created them and will somehow make it more appealing.

EDIT: Actually, I just hate this generation as a whole come to think of it.

I guess this'll be one of the last games I get for the ole Xbrick. Anywho, I know it'll be a blast to play. Can't wait!

This is Rockstar, guys. A PC port is coming. Sure, it'll be 6 months late, and have performance problems even on high-end hardware, but it'll definitely come.

P.S. Thanks
If its going to be as horrific port as GTA4 was, no thanks id rather not play at all.

I think it's a cunning ploy to make sure we switch characters every now and then, so we don't end up with one really strong guy and two pathetic ones, and then hate it when we have to play as the weak characters.

Also, how would you level up stealth outside of missions? Just crouch-walking behind random people in the street?

All this stuff about daily lives sounds like the kind of overambitious tripe Peter whatshisface comes up with at the early stages of a game...when Rockstar Says it though, I can maybe believe it

As long as they don't implement SA's "hurrdurr i'm hungry" (which I loath) then I don't have any isseus with it.

Hmm. Seems interesting.

But what I'm more interested in is how the instant switching between characters is going to work.

I can see it working during heists and such (Micheal steals the money and runs out of the building, switch to Franklin and drive away, switch to Trevor who is in the back of the van and throw molotovs at pursuing cops cars), but during down time when you're just fucking around, jumping out of helicopters and throwing grenades at passerbys? I'm still not sure how exactly they plan on working the whole affair.

But whatever. I've already pre-ordered and can't wait. I'm sure it'll be better than GTAIV by a long shot. Who knows, maybe it'll take the title of best Rockstar game away from Red Dead Redemption.
Actually I think that during missions you are locked to the character that you choose to start the mission with. The character switching will probably be like in Batman AC (you change while in free-roam) and not like the Lego games (you change at any point in the game).

If it's in-depth and not tacked on, sounds good. If I want to specialise in sniping and stealth I bloody well will :D I'm liking that each character has their own "flavour".

You got me thinking, we'd maybe have less civilian casualties in Afghanistan if we replaced the soldiers with mobsters.
My train of thought when I read this:

"Why would mobsters care about collateral damage and killing civs? Oh right then they wouldn't be able to sell drugs/firearms/contraband/etc or move stuff."

Seriously it makes SENSE mobsters wouldn't want to kill civs, it's where they make their money: from other people so they can take it.

Wait, so I might actually have to work on becoming an agent of extreme long range death?

It's a good game mechanic, but it doesn't really lend itself to that good old fucking around we all love to do in GTA games.

You say that, but have you had to deal with Rockstar's Social Club? It took me a half hour just to get Max Payne 3 working.

Rockstar social club does suck but I don't trust my 360 anymore so I don't buy games for it. Wish publishers would just wrap their games in steam drm and forget all that other bullshit like origin, uplay and the social club.

Psychopath first, soldier second.
I mean, come on. Have you seen the guy's trailer? He's just slugging people across the face left and right with his bare fists.

What? GTA San Andreas' system wasn't that burdensome, CJ had to eat once every 3 days, which is 72 minutes straight up playing without ever saving the game in one of the many many safe houses the game had. I've only had that during the pimp and taxi mission runs. Although vigilante missions were tough without the tank or Hunter heli, let's not forget the harrier jet :3

However grinding lung capacity was not fun and neither was weapon skill for weapons the player doesn't use often, cost a lot or are just hard to find. I used to grind the weapon levels on the planes in the Los Santos Airport, because they are tough as hell and take a lot of shots, which turns into fireworks if you overdo it and the cops are determined to get to you :D

Captcha: no regrets - Definitely.

Also grinding lung capacity did suck ass.
damn straight....in SA I didnt worry about it at all and then I had once I got to Woozie' missions in san fierro I had to spend 30 minutes to an hour diving below the surface out by the SF airport to get my lung capacity up.
