To whomever said Parasite Eve & GUN, I salute you people.

Anyhow, I know I'll get yelled at, but Portal could have easily been another hour or two longer... maybe let you run around outside after the orgasm-inducing ending instead of (apparently) killing you outright. Also, Parasite Eve is well overdue for another sequel, if only to satisfy the mystery of where all those mitochondria monsters went >.<

I would honestly have to say Mario Galaxy, it was fun and all, but seriously easy and short.
It took me a couple months to beat it, but I'm probably slower then anyone else in here. I'm 3 hours into Tales of Vesperia after a week.
Took me a few weeks, I think. And that's just beating the end boss, if you want to collect all the stars you can play it for much longer.

I beat Phantom Hourglass in less than a week. That was a little disappointing, but understandable since I played it 5+ hours every day.

Crysis, I don't agree with the farcry claims, but, Crysis took me less then 10 hours to finish the first time through.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R., yeah, you can keep wandering around nicking stuff, but honestly, the game's over when you get to Chernobyl.

Fable... eh, maybe, it varies...

Max Payne 2, the game was what, ten hours?

Dawn of War, just about the time the single player campaign gets interesting, it's over... it feels like 3/4s of the game are missing. I mean, a 10 mission marine campaign's fine, but why not Chaos, Eldar and Ork missions after that?

I say this over and over again in many threads, and I'll keep on saying it in these threads XD

Star Wars: Republic Commando, awesome game, best Squad AI I've ever seen! However, too short and no sequel :(
I know, great, great Star Wars game but they never made another :(

They even left the plot open for another, DAMMIT.

Somebody go picket the company who made it, we need more good Star Wars games.

can we please do not have any threads like did.
any game that has an average play time between the 8 and 10 hours on the first play trough is short..
I don't wanna bother with names but there are a lot of them and it pains me greatly :(
I have like 24 hours of play time on Ff VI on the gba and I'm not done yet. Now that's some length. not the 6 hour rush games like PoP SoT are.

Heavenly Sword. Even though the ending was orgasm worthy.
Right there. Amazing game, but I beat it in one ball crunching day.

I completely agree with Tenmar. If Portal went on longer, it would not have had quite the same impact that it has become known for. The same puzzles would start getting used over and over. The reason it seems short is because it is such an interesting and refreshing experience.

The game gradually unveils everything it has to offer, throws in a nice twist, and finishes in memorable fashion. It is not a terribly long game, but it is exactly the right length for what it is.

I think I should get myself a copy of portal... never played it.

I really, really enjoyed The Darkness, even though it didn't have the best gameplay mechanics. It did something very different, had a GREAT story, brilliant art direction, and superb voice acting. The Darkness powers were pretty damn cool too. It was one of those games that you really got attached to.

Alas, I rented it and beat it in about 7 hours. I really need to pick it up again, it was a load of fun while it lasted

halo 3 and metroid prime 3. first off i hate the halo series because it seems to complicated and i only played it because the guy who owned it was bored to death although i loves the vehicle section that was awesome. and metroid prime 3 because i beat it in 13hrs!!! the second was a filler and it was very hard and i can't explain the first cause i got to the phazon mines then my friend wanted the game back.
Halo is too complicated for you? There's nothing complex about it...it's "Point, Shoot, Kill."
AI accompanyment. Point, shoot, kill is reserved for the GOOD shooters, like Doom.

Back on topic, I thought Fable was too short. I have this theory that Western RPGs take an EON to beat. My clock on Fable says 12 hours, and I was doing a lot of the little side quests too.

Fable was definitely too short. It was great fun while it lasted, but then it kinda just...skipped to the end. Methinks Molyneux spent too much time claiming the game was the epitome of RPG's and not enough time developing the damn thing. I hope Fable 2 is much lengthier.
