The whole idea of the dystopian/utopian society was good but I just could not for the life of me get into it.

Anything by Pink Floyd, the later work of the Beatles, and Radiohead. I know they are geniuses but I think as musicians they fail and produced some truly unlistenable music even if it was deep, meaningful and experimental.

And I'll admit, I never liked OK Computer at first, despite multiple tries to get into it and it being cited as one of the greatest albums of all time. And then, after about 7 months of me owning it, I gave it another listen to try and get into it and it just suddenly clicked for me at how amazing it was. I can't describe it.

Not that I'm suggesting that everyone should try for so long to like an album, just recallin' an' ol' tale.

The beatles. I understand that they were revolutionary and they changed the face of music forever; but to me, the songs they made were just so boring and bland. Maybe I have to be high to really appreciate it. Oh well.

Star Wars. It might be because I was 7 when Phantom menace came out, and it biased me towards suck, but when I went and watched the first 3, I hated them. They were just so boring. Of course it didnt help that any and all plot twists were ruined by the general public for me, but this thread isn't about that.

Romeo and Juliet. If this was written today, it would be 2 angsty emo teens killing themselves because "noone understands us, they never will so we must end our lives together" or something to that extent, and discarded as whiny emo bullshit. Or maybe, it wouldn't even leave the 'angsty emo poem' phase, and never exist...

I loved fighting the colossi, but hunting them down wasn't well done, and the story as a whole kind of lacked anything for me.

The film version of To Kill a Mockingbird.

The original novel I truly enjoyed and found deserving of its general status as a "classic" back when I read it a few years ago in English class. The film, on the other hand, was a bowdlerized and mediocre hollowed shell of its source material. Why it's held in the same high regard as the novel is something that confuses me to this day.

I find it boring and tedious. They have the odd good song, but mostly I just do not like their music.

2001: A Space Odyssey. Seriously, what the fuck is this shit (the following might contain quotes from Confused Matthew)?!? That "movie" isn't even a movie, it's an anti-movie, because apart from the Hal segment, the film is without any story, plot or characters, which are the most basic and crucial elements to every film. I don't give a flying shit if it's considered to be one of the most thought provoking films ever, because every single explanation about this film is just pulling shit out its ass.

But that's just one of the reasons this movie can suck my ass, but I don't feel like listing more.

I did not get that movie either but the points which people tell me it makes are thought provoking. Although to me it gets lost in all the bullshit.

Half Life 2 was mediocre. Several times Gordon did things I didn't want him to do and some levels were just plain annoying. The sand level for example. (also, Ravenholm wasn't the slightest bit scary.)

The Mona Lisa. It looks like a woman posing, trying her hardest to look serious while something slightly funny is happening in front of her. It's very well drawn but I can't see any reason for it's vast popularity.

Also any piece of art or literature with a "hidden meaning" that you have to interpret for yourself. Pointless because several people can look at it, interpret the meaning differently and not get the actual meaning of the piece.

I think this usually has to do with corners cut when filming, to make it under 6 hours long. I noticed imagery and key points removed or mashed together to save time. All in all still great, but the book was better.

What I don't really like is Watchmen. Not that it isn't interesting, I think I entered it in the wrong sense of mind, thinking it was something it wasn't. It was compelling, I finished it, and thought it to be strangely anticlimactic. Despite this, it was definitely worth it, and it was very intriguing, and is also fun to draw parallels between that and The Incredibles.

I think this is probably brash to say, but I think The Incredibles was a better Watchmen movie that Watchmen: The Movie.
