I've said it before, and I'll keep saying it until people start listening: Warcraft 3.

Then you can keep talking for a loooooong time, people still don't believe that Blizzard existed before they made WoW.

Back on topic, can we name expansion packs as well? If yes, I'd like to nominate The Frozen Throne as too. That map editor kept me busy for longer then may actual games. Along with the obvious stuff like Diablo 2, Half Life 2, Age of Kings and Age of Mythology.

After playing the original Mass Effect I couldn't help ,but say "Man, when the sequel comes out and they fix this game up it will be amazing." Seems like they just needed that second edition to get the game released properly.

I really have to say Mass Effect 2 on this one. The only thing they did wrong with it was taking out ME1's leveling system. I much preferred it, not sure why. If Mass Effect 3 has everything Mass Effect 2 plus Mass Effect's leveling system, I will never buy another game. I won't need to.

Daaaaang this is tough! Maybe Jedi Knight 2 Jedi Outcast. That was pretty good. Hmm...Rebel strike 2 was pretty good. I liked Mario 2 as well. and I liked Gears of War 2. But not the best sequal ever

Agreed. Not played Destroy All Humans 2 but the first one was great.
ZOE was terrible IMO but ZOE2 is one of my favourite games ever
Also the Legacy Of Kain games got better as they went on, with Soul Reaver 2 being the best
Uncharted 2 is fantastic as well, much better than the first
Edit: ooh and ME2. ME1 was great but fuck me, ME2 completely blew me away!

Resident Evil 4 was the best though, because while God of War III was great, every game in the series is great, where as in RE, while the originals and other sequels were good, RE4 redefined the series as a whole new style of gameing
