Based on advancement in the series from the first to the second, Just Cause.

Just Cause 2 is so vastly superior to the first one, it's not even funny.

Sadly, my Xbox fell over today and my copy was ruined. Now I'm a saaaaaaaad panda. T_T

In terms of the pure leap in quality it has to be Just Cause 2. I enjoyed the first one, but frankly, compared to other games it was awful. Just Cause 2 however is such an improvement and really feels like a triple A current gen game.
This guy knows what I'm talking about. Sadly, most people are not paying attention to this one, so it's gonna be a sleeper.

it's been bugging me for ages as to what is the best sequel ever. for me it is a toss up between halflife 2 and system shock 2.. any help?
Dude.... c'mon, it is system shock II for sure.
Continued the story in an epic fashion, brutally hard game, makes you think. No offence to Valve, but Half life 2 is an fps.
System shock II revolutionized a genre of games, had an epic story, amazing plot twist and a truely horrifying atmosphere (I still crap my pants from the cyborg midwives).

The fact that you think Mass Effect II is superiour to System shock truely sickens me. Wtf? It was worse than the first one by far, so much shorter and I have to wonder if you've actually played System Shock II.

Movies:
The Godfather Part II
Terminator 2
The Dark Knight

Games:
Half-Life 2
Mass Effect 2
Uncharted 2

There are probably some more that come to mind, but I'm not really thinking too thoroughly right now.

It has to be Mass Effect 2...

I can't keep a straight face while saying that

Really Monster Hunter Freedom Unite was a work of art.

Now I'm torn between my desires of playing it and seeing you proved wrong, ><

Fable 2 obviously... >.>
But really, I'm going to go with a game that I grew up on, Banjo Tooie! Absolutely amazing

In terms of movies I'm going to go with Toy Story 2. I feel so childish with this post

Yeah it's a shame, JC2 is amazingly fun.

So fun, that when I accidentally knocked over my 360 and scratched my game disc, I pouted. Like, literally pouted, for about an hour.

I'm getting it fixed today, if possible, and if not, I'm getting another new copy.

You hear that people? Breaking this game made me want to cry and throw a tantrum, but the disappointment of not being able to play it just left me deeply saddened instead.

I'm an adult and I didn't pout like this when my father died.

Go play this game!

I broke down when I accidentally started a new game to see what the highest difficulty was like and saved over my 25 hour, 20% done gamesave.

All my playtime lost.

But then I remembered I loved the game so much I didn't mind playing again.

Yeah, that would sting initially, just from habit and preconditioning from other games, but realizing you just get to have fun doing it again would ease the pain pretty quickly.

There's not too many games that I would say that about.
