There have been many truly wonderful TV shows out there and its hard to tell which one is best. So Escapists, what do you think is the greatest show ever in the following categories.

Animated:

Comedy:

Drama:

Debate is welcome as long as it stays polite.

Comedy: Blackadder Goes Forth. While the other series were brilliant, this one was a cut above the rest.

Animated: The DC Animated Universe.

Drama: I got nothing. House maybe? Perhaps I just like Hugh Laurie.

Animated: Futurama
Comedy: I honestly couldn't say, I like Two and a Half Men, but many people seem to hate it. So I guess comedy's extremely subjective, moreso than other genres.
Drama: I'd say House.

Animated: Futurama
Comedy: Arrested Development
Drama: Battlestar Galactica remake. seriously, that show blows my mind (yes, present tense, i'm still watching it). House would be first runner up.

Animated: Bugs Bunny and the rest of the Looney Tunes cast (I can't get enough of them)

Comedy: M*A*S*H

Drama: MacGyver. Who can argue with brains like his?

Animated: Many animes that I cannot fight myself to choose one...

Comedy: Scrubs or Psych (they both rub me the right way)

Drama: Nothing, absolutely nothing. Why should I watch something that would essentially tug at my heart strings (or atleast try to) when I could just watch what happens in daily life.

I don't watch a whole lot of TV, so I can't really say which shows are the "greatest", but these are my favorites from what little I do watch:

Animated: Avatar: The Last Airbender
Comedy: How I Met Your Mother
Drama: Firefly (because it has to be on this list somewhere)

Erm, I don't really watch TV much. I used to watch The Simpsons, now I use it as a movie and news dispenser.
Soooooo I suppose I'll just choose from anime :p

Animated: Erm... they all are, so Ergo Proxy.
Comedy: Azumanga Daioh. Minami-ke might beat it soon though.
Drama: Sukisho, definitely. The drama and mystery aspects of Sukisho are awesome, the best thing is that they blend into the comedy and romance aswell.

Animated: Avatar: The Last Airbender
Comedy: Chuck
Drama: Farscape

Of the three, Chuck is by far my favorite show of all time, often underrated, need to keep my season 5 hopes alive...

What...arbitrary....categories. But, whatever. I'll bite.

Animated:
I don't know, Avatar? (Of the last variety)

Drama:
3-way tie between Dexter, The Shield, and Breaking Bad. Seriously, how come no one's seen The Shield?

Comedy:
Modern Family

I change my mind. Breaking Bad wins all categories.

Even the animated one.

How could I forget Breaking Bad?

Animated: Cowboy Bebop. Can't believe that no-one has mentioned this yet.

Comedy: IT Crowd. See above statement.

Roy: singing Pink Floyd "We don't need no, education."

Moss: "Yes you do, you just used a double negative"

Drama: Firefly. I was about to go into shock as I thought no-one had posted it yet.

To raise awareness of the IT Crowd (and Cowboy Bebop for those who haven't seen it) Isaac The Grape Productions present the following videos.
