My favorite was the good ol CS namespoofer. I would inject realy annoying sounds into my mic port and spoof the name of another player. Hilarity ensues.

My "ethical" stance on griefing is this.

If you put a teleporter in-front of a porn spray, it's alright. It doesn't hinder the game, just shocks the player for a moment.

If you block someone's path just to hear them say "move!!!" and make them angry, it's not.

it is a douche-bag move. if you're ok w/ being a douche-bag then you're ok with it. but as an absolute, no it is not okay.

It depends on various factors, is it allowed by the rules of the game set by the developer or is it an illegal hack or modification? Is it some guy being a douchebag or just like to mess with people instead of playing the game?

Stuff like getting killed by Allance/Horde players in WOW, I feel doesn't fit this senario because if your flagged for PvP and/or on a PVP server, this is allowed and you were aware of this fact when you decided to make a character on that server.

Other things like slipping under the game map and placing sentrys in TF2, that would be both cheating and griefing since not only is it using a game flaw to unbalance the forces of one team over the other, but there is really no way for the other team to strike back.
