The guild questlines are waaaaay too short. I feel like I've talked to 3 people, done maybe 4 fetchquests and suddenly I'm arch-mage. Who the fuck are you people and what's your story? It's hard to feel involved with the guilds this way, which is a big step down from Oblivion, really.

I'm not sure if I have the right to complain but it would have been nice if the game had it so that anything can go in the right and left hand like if i wanted my character to be a lefty like me and wield his shield in the right hand that would be a little more immersive

the game automatically creates a save at character creation that is all you need to do.

I play on the PC and Skyrim is one of the best games I?ve played in a long time, not counting classics. But something that?s really buttered my toast, is the lack of creativity in the dark brotherhood quests, I won?t go into detail for not wanting to spoil. But it just didn?t feel the same, as oblivion the over-arching quest line wasn?t as moving, the murders weren't as well thought out and the bonuses were so laughably easy to obtain. Not once was I required to change my style of play to suit what the client wanted, never once did I have to make it look like an accident, or do anything interesting. The most interesting part was hiding a body and that was bloody optional.

I have not advanced in the main quest at all, so perhaps that is where the creativity will render me speechless. None the less i still enjoy the game enough to have put over 60 hours into my character so far :)
I feel your pain the last quest which I expected to be some harrowing seal team 6 type thing became easy because I already had done the theives guild questline and could become invisible while sneaking, I just breezed though it, in oblivion all the murders were creative and fun.

I don't understand how any true tes fan can LOVE skyrim. It lacks the complex rpg-system that made the tes series what they are today. It's more of a mass effect 2 lookalike than anything else really. And I know most people enjoy story/character driven rpgs like that but there are also a lot of us that really adore rpgs that accurately represent reality with numbers because then you have complete control aka its a more realistic game. I mean for f**ks in Morrowind some 80-90 hours into the game agile characters where able to jump three stories high and mages could teleport/fly. Hell, even oblivion which was a dumbed down version of morrowind (imo) still had things like enchanting your armor with chameleon/reflect damage/absorb magicka. What I mean is that the games have been getting more and more restricted gameplay-wise (with a few exceptions) rather than blossoming in a full virtual reality. Sigh... I guess I should be thankful there are still books and misc items like plates, goblets, quills. Bottom line: Morrowind:200+hours Oblivion:150+hours Skyrim:50-60hours aprox. est. (for comparison FFXIII:52hours, thats right I played FF fkin XIII as much if not more than skyrim).

You can get those to disappear by taking whatever arrows you have equipped and putting them in a container. It might also work if you simply drop them, but I haven't tested that.

Well at least the games saves just before you exit your prison cart.

My grievances?

Cooking is underpayed. Seriously. It's just looks pretty but does pretty much nothing.

More inspiring: "The Sky is the limit" just like Morrowind. I miss game breaking overpowerful enchatments and potions and spells. Bethesda could add an "play it safe" button and when unchecked normal things don't happen very often.

More economic management.
I want to start a buisness model, want to buyout the pesky Thalmor loyal traders, no need to invade Whiterun when you can have an economic hostile takeover. Getting a monopoly on Dragon Bone Armor at first and expanding into Ebony and Daedra Weaponry, with regular shipments of ore to your very own manufactury.

Seriously? Reduce 90% of the obnoxius part of Sims Medieval and add the rest to Skyrim, that would be Great.

Dragon Priests. Dear god,DRAGON PRIESTS. Named ones only, though.

Vokun,Morkai, and Krosis were the only ones I fought so far,and they were INSANE! Their staves advertized far less damage than what was being belted out to me with them, and their natural spells were WORSE! And then there's the fact that Krosis and Morkai are partial to summoning tanky Frost Atronachs, while Vokun upped the ante with Storm Atronachs (I was a shock spec destroyer/conjurer). Finally,Krosis and Vokun liked to brainwash my summons.

The kicker? I fought them at level 20-28. I still died at least three times per.

I was at HALF THE FLIPPIN' LEVEL CAP,AND THEY STILL KILLED ME WITH 2 STAFF SHOTS,OR ONE NATURAL SPELL! I realize that they're supposed to be nasty powerful...But that's ridiculous. One slip...And YER DEAD! Resistances be DAMNED!
Damn. The. Liches. Er, Dragon Priests. Damn them all. I was trying to do the side quest for the Greybeards to get more words of power. Walked into the central room, saw the large, heavily locked sarcophagus, said "I bet that's a lich." and i walked away. Then i got the skulls, opened the tomb up, and got one-shotted by "Otar the Mad's" lighting staff before i could even draw my damn sword. Tried again, same result, got my sword out that time, though. Maybe i shouldn't have been trying that at level 18, but how was i to know that it was harder to fight than a giant? Eventually, i just used the Ethereal shout and ran passed him to get to the Word wall.

The lack of epic loot. I have yet to find an item thats better then what I can make myself, save the masks :(
Yea, this is a big issue. The weapons you get from the Daedric princes are worse than the shit I can make myself, by a substantial margin.

I think the primary reason for that is that they are not counted as a "type" of weapon and therefore do not get the Smithing double-improvement bonus perk thing. That's gonna be the first thing I fix once the mod tools come out.

Dragons aren't as difficult as I'd like, and it really destroys whatever epicness might be salvaged from a dragon fight (usually caused by the music) when I'm immediately beset upon by a Dragon Priest that is three times harder to kill.

The loading screens are longer than I would like, though I am playing on console, and at least they usually contain some interesting information and 3d model to look at.

I want to sprint indefinitely with my horse, or at least to have some indication of how much longer it can sprint.

Companion AI is horrendous.

The major questlines, with the exception of the Thieves' Guild, are incredibly anticlimactic, and don't give you much of interest to do afterwards (with the exception of the College & Thieves' Guild). The Companions suffer from this the most, especially since their infinite quests pay almost nothing.

This ties into my last point, but I feel like I have to reiterate: the main quest needs a fucking climax. The final fight is piss easy and when you come back, nothing's changed except the random banter you hear from guards. There's also the fact that Alduin is never really shown to be a threat, he's only said to be one.

Those are my biggest gripes. Now I'm going to play the game some more.

make a savegame 10 seconds after you get off the wagon or when you're just about to be the next in the queue ;) skipped intro sequence henceforth

Save the game when you get off the carriage. You know, BEFORE YOU CHOOSE A RACE. Reload that save and BAM! Instantly get to the race/sex menu.

On Topic though, What is with Dragonbone armor having less damn defense than Daedric armor, yet requiring you to be at 100 smithing (only need to be 90 for Daedric)?

Not sure if it is just my xbox being old and slow or not but the load times can be frustratingly long and frequent, even with the game installed to my hard drive.

Melee combat still seems as boring as ever. I also think I leveled up too many noncombat skills and now all the bosses take like, 50 hits and I have to drink potions non stop. Grumble grumble.

I've never been impressed by TES's roleplaying. In fact, I think the best TES game is Redguard which was for all purposes an "action adventure" with the RPG removed. Everything about Skyrim is fantastic except that part. (Well, I don't like the character models and a lot of the dialogue)

The quests are very dull to me. It's a pretty serious grievance actually; one that's killed my interest in playing for the time being. Maybe I should start the main quest; I dunno, but all these Guild questlines are very disappointing.
Gods, I know what you mean. The Dark Brotherhood questline above all of the others felt like a massive let-down after Oblivion. The assassins in the Cheydinhall Sanctuary actually had personality, and depth. I can barely stand to step foot near anyone in the Dark Brotherhood in Skyrim because it's just too depressing. Nothing to say. No developments in personality or attitude or even the most basic things to say between missions from Astrid.

And on that topic, Astrid. I get the feeling she jumps to trusting you far too quickly. I mean, I'd been in the Brotherhood for all of a week before that one major thing that calls on her faith in you occurs(I'm saying this because I'm too much of a noob to know how to bring up the spoiler tagbox. >.<) and she just says, "Yep. Get out and go do some random contract, then I'll believe you, yes siree!"

The Theive's Guild seemed more alive to me, even if it was only because of the various people around and the Radiant questing from Vex and Devlin, but it's immersion-breaking when Brynjolf says he's too buys for you even after you complete the questline. And I would like a little thief companion, thank you. Someone who knows to stay hidden with their bow strung, preferably, or even someone who'll just follow me through to the end of the dungeon with no casualties.

Still love the game though. And I will mod the ever-loving purity out of this game once more mods come into being. And yes, I am on the 360. Woohoo for hard-drive transfer cable!

A VERY annoying amount of crashes. Other than that though, not too much. I feel like the main quest seemed to have a little cut out of it, and the blades never played much purpose. I really feel like the story was just there to give reason for dragons, which is acceptable to some, but left me feeling a little saddened. Also the stealth isn't much better. Bandits will stand around with 8 arrows in their rear, and 2 dead buddies next to them, and eventually say "Guess it was nothing". Honestly though, none of these have been able to distract from my favorite thing in the game. Ebony mail. Not only does it make me sneaky, but it makes my entire character black with dark smoke when he crouches, in addition to making foes take 5 points of poison damage per second when they stand too close.

The menu system, the menu system, the menu system!!

Last night I spent 3,000 gold paying my way through situations I was capable of doing myself because the menu system didn't work properly.

Following that the...unusual...difficulty balance.

In the blue corner:
1 Dragon.
1 Pissed off Dark Elf Mage with a specialisation in destruction magic.
1 Lydia, armed with exquisite dwarven war hammer

In the red corner:
1 Mammoth.

It was a sad day for the blues.
