1 Million Moms [there are no million] and AFA. Oh yeah that is the old and losing.

The culture in america is changing and these old bloaks don't like it. These old rusty people dislike the though that they can't kick others down just because they are rich and white.

Guess what.. you are on the wrong side AFA and 1MM. Time will wash you away. You will die out.. it already is happening.
Come to think of it, has OMM (nomnomnomnom) ever succeeded in changing anything?

The ones I remember they either failed or they got mocked/a deliberate "screw you" in the case of...What was it, JC Penny? Sears? I forget.

The only thing I think they've done is serve as a promotional tool for the companies that offend them.

...

Hey hey hey....That's not fair. Harry Potter is based on real-life events! And Dumbledore was white!
Yup MM are just a vehicle that have little to do with actual mothers but it is one of those sham organisations that the rich white folk feel they need to raise ruckus. The old and rich oh how they fear what is coming their way.

Hmmm. I wonder, are they mad that they are making fun of jesus? Or because jesus is black .

There is no way in hell , jesus was a blond blue eyed white guy.
thank you! i was about to start looking for a new forum thought everyone was buying into the reasons they gave for a minute reading the first page and a half of comments. personaly ive always found great sport annoying racist christians in pointing out MR J H Christ was actually a middle eastern jew and not Charleston Heston.

In this one instance they have a point.
Which point is that again? The one where they complain about things Jesus doesn't do in the trailer, the one where they ignore the notion that he's not really Jesus, the one where they claim the programming block that runs reruns of Family Guy wouldn't mock other religions, or the one where they hypocritically go after someone else for "misrepresenting Jesus?"

Don't get me wrong. I support the right of protest and boycott, even if the people doing it are hypocritical assholes. I'm not saying they can't protest. I'm just wondering what, specifically, you're siding with them on. Because I am seriously not seeing a salient point here. Unless we're talking the most general: the right to protest. In which case, they have that right in every other instance, too.
That Jesus Christ their Lord and Savior is being represented as a cartoon character almost. No Christian living today wants Jesus to become Santa Clausesque. In my first post I said it probably isn't Jesus Christ reborn but a dude taking advantage of people but that doesn't matter as they don't establish that point and the show is called Black Jesus so you can reasonably assume that it is indeed suppose to be Jesus Christ.

Oh, I know they're full of crap, I just wondered if they've accomplished anything.

Ever.

Only if you redefine "reasonably" to mean "ignoring all evidence to the contrary."

Granted, this is a very apt thing for a Christian hate group to do, but you're defending people who are either ill-informed or lying and saying that they have a point.

I think the part is that they mention AS wouldn't dare mock any other religion.

Nobody else goes nuts like you idiots.

Wow... That just makes me want to watch this show even MORE... and I was already going to watch it regardless, given how the so-called "misrepresentation" of Jesus doesn't seem that much "misrepresented" so far... unless you want to get "technical", in which I choose not to think too deeply about right now...

Well without a well defined character, the early Christians even didn't make drawings of this Jesus person. Only once they we're more accepted and by then who knows what this Jesus guy looked like right. This is why the depiction of jesus has changed so many times. NOBODY KNOWS. And the white ones, yeah.. that was a later invention.

So really in the end.. nobody knows. And maybe that is the best point to end it at. And just say "We don't know". At most one can say like "They are making a comedy" Yeah sometimes that happens.

Laughter and humanity go together well and what kind of topic usually is used to make humour. The type that tends to hurt some people.

Right then sorry if I misread things.

Humor is important though to us. The ability to laugh about things to relativate it or laugh off something that just shortly ago was endangering our lives is a good way to release steam.

Now about the movie, it looks naf, yup it looks pretty bad really. It looks like it will make a certain public laugh and to others it will do nothing. It even lacks the big blockbuster effect some of the worst movie this summer have.

So in the end.. it will just be another movie on the long list you might find popping up in netflix. I might see it after watching some kind of disaster movie and in the end it is a fizzle, it is like a drop in a glass water. It will not have changed the world.

They're right though, they'd not have the balls to do a Mohammed show. A shame as I think at least the early stuff up to the victory over the Quraysh of Mecca could be woven into a good enough show (saying in general, not in regards to comedy).
I can only assume there are such shows already made but they are likely heavily biased, and not in English so I'll never get to see those stories on the screen.

Anyway isn't Jesus black in some branches of Christianity anyway? Personally I'd rather see a show about Jesus's Chinese brother as it'd likely make much better TV.

This looks pretty funny actually.
The Boondocks had some great religious and political satire.

What? People are protesting this?
Don't care. Jesus would have been middle eastern in appearance anyways.
So Black Dynam....Jesus here is closer to an actual physical portrail than most in the past couple of millienia.
Blacks are closer to Arabs because of skin colour? That sounds racist in itself.

Because you said this:

EDIT: I actually kind of hope they win this one. Jesus is more important to them than it is to me to laugh at.
So it seems as though you actually agree with them, rather than just playing devil's advocate

Adult Swim should move forward and not let an interest group stop their activities. Religious interest groups get offended over the most trivial stuff these days, it's pathetic.

The claim that they wouldn't make fun of any other religion tells me they don't know adult swim or it's contents very well.

To borrow a line from Creationist Cat:

"You think God has a sense of humor? He created AIDS, cancer, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit! He's not a fan of comedy!"

OMM has been fairly impotent so far, and probably have better promoted this than AS could have done alone. I doubt they're backing off any time soon.
