Oh Guild wars 2. I enjoyed leveling my main to 80 very much. The game is a real joy, especially at earlier levels. Unfortunately it gets quite boring after 80 as there isn't much of an endgame. I intend to go back for another playthrough at some stage, and love the fact that there's no sub fee!

I see MMORPGs aren't very popular on this site. I'm still playing it and still enjoying it.
Same. I did take a break from it but recently I have been paying a lot. Finally got my dungeon set, now working towards my next characters set and the acesencion rings.

I'm also still enjoying the game, I don't play as much as I did at release but that's what makes the lack of a sub-fee so brilliant, I can drop in and out whenever I want and not feel bad for it.

The patches for January and February look like they're going to add a lot to the game too so I'm totally looking forward to that.

And to the people that say the game is dead and they never meet anyone: I'm on a medium population server and every time I log on I meet plenty of people (10+ in the space of an hour or two) in whatever zone I happen to be in at the time.

Pretty much all my friends who played it stopped out of boredom.

I haven't touched it myself as I am boycotting NCsoft.

I stopped playing due to hardware restrictions, I managed to reach level 60 before I gave up due to maxing out at 20fps and dropping to 5 during fights. Once my new PC is complete I'll be playing a whole lot more.

I've been playing it since october and have been enjoying it greatly. the only complaint i have is that i don't find people to do the other dungeons. it seems that everyone wants to do the catacombs.

Lately i've been really working on my armorcrafting skills.

I ditched my lvl 33 Necro Human for an Asura Mesmer, and suddenly, the game got a lot better.
I'm so close to 100% exploration, but can't finish because of the current WvW situation, we're severely mismatched right now.

Even after almost 250 hours of more or less casual play (haven't dedicately farmed a minute), I'm still enjoying it, mostly because I have real-life friends I can play with. We got ourself a 4-member guild and play around after Uni.

Go to gw2lfg.com, makes getting into dungeon parties very easy.

I got one char up to 80 and was exploring the zones around Orr(sp?).

The zone was deserted, and all the mobs were so packed in together it was impossible to get by w/o noticing.
And, all those mobs can pull you, root you or freeze you. Drawing aggro of one means you should just open your map and find the nearest way point.

Such poor design made me lose all interest.

Whatever, just wash your hands.
I've been enjoying it, I got two 80s and one 70 and one character in every other class at various levels. Lately I've been pvping a bunch and having a blast using my longbow ranger in it.

I have one character at 50, three just past 30, three newbies and a soon-to-be-filled empty slot. I'm having a blast with the game, spending nearly 1000 hours exploring the word. I have exactly what I need for any situation and my outfits and weapons are fabulous (soon to be more so).

I'm eagerly awaiting the update this week with some remixes to the dungeons' reward systems, including the "dungeon finder" you people keep whining about (I'm assuming because you have no friends and/or shit guilds... ) and the Guesting feature so I can earn useable Influence for my other three guilds.

Seriously people, slow down and smell some roses. You might find some interesting surprises... like the updates to the 1-15 and 16-25 zones' Events you had no idea happened three times.

Might have been able to keep me playing more if it didn't have a server system where i can only play with a few of my old mates.
What, specifically, is stopping you? Server transfers are free until the update this week and after that you can guest onto any server in your region for free without giving up your Home slot.

I have one level 80 character, and a few scattered low-levels. Everytime I make progress on a low-level, I suddenly decide that exploring would be far more advantageous and that this time spent exploring the Ashford Plains on my charr elementalist could be spent exploring an unknown region on the 80 Engineer. So I go do that instead and then get bored of playing alone and do something else.

I do enjoy the game, though, and when I have people to play with, it's awesome.

The fact that they were split over multiple servers and not all of them wanted to switch. Guesting wasn't avaliable at the start. It was a rather big change from GW1 were you could freely switch from any region to another instantly. Also words at the start were that transfers would only be free during the lauch period. Since i got caught up by other games i haven't been keeping up with GW2 news since then.

Would it be possible to have guilds on multiple servers or members from multiple servers in a guild with the guesting system?

I have my lvl 32-ish Charr Warrior that I actually just started playing again after a few months of hiatus last night. Funny how this thread pops up right when I do, heh.

I'm having fun with the game as I always have.

I have a 6 page review of Guild Wars 2 sitting unfinished on my desktop.

I didn't like the game, I actually found it quite shallow and after much excitement and hype pre-launch the title itself let me down.

Free server transfers were supposed to be a stopover measure until Guesting was implemented. It started off at one only, then was expanded to once a week, then became free to all, then once a day. It took awhile for the population to stabilize which servers they wanted to roll on, and of course certain... types, will use free transfers to attempt cheating at WvW.

Cross-server Guilds are possible; always has been. Our very own Escapist Guild [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/groups/view/Guild-Wars] is split across half a dozen servers and have been since launch.

One thing to be aware of though: Unfortunately Guesting will have to be region-restricted (in either of the two regions: America and Europe)... at least for the time being. Once your Home is locked in, you can only Guest onto other servers in the same region. If you want to change servers or regions without paying a transfer fee, now is the time to do it.

I've been a guild wars fan since the first game, around the time Prophecies came out. I've played GW2 since the day of the release (I didn't bother with the beta because I wanted to play the finished product, not just bits and pieces, I'm weird like that), then dropped out right before Halloween, due to bots completely ruining the economy, but Anet really stepped up, so.. I'm back!

I love the combat, it's really exhilarating and dynamic, as opposed to a lot (if not all) other murmorpurgers. There's no 'holy trinity', which means no more standing around for half an hour to find someone that wants to play as a healer. Crucial to your survival are your healing skill, dodge and/or block abilities. Succeeding in battle relies more on actual skill and finesse, rather than who's numbers are the highest. The fact that they made the game so that every class can fulfill every role (within reason), without sacrificing differences between individual classes is nothing short of amazing.

There's also no more walls of text you have to read if you want to know what the fuck's going on, Arenanet makes the quests come to you. You could be having a nice stroll to enjoy the view and suddenly stumble upon 20 players trying to take down an enormous cave troll, or a lone player struggling to stay alive against a pack of seriously pissed off centaurs, that you can save in an epic moment of heroism, completing the quest with a nice bit of teamwork (or die horribly). This is the kind of dynamic action that murmorpurgers have been seriously lacking, and I'm not just talking about WoW here.

A lot of you say there's not much to do after you hit 80 and have completed your story. Now while this is true, you must know that this is Arenanet, this is how they work. They get their money from releasing expansion packs every now and then.
Prophecies got rather boring after you got the shiniest gear and completed all the quests, but then they released 3 expansions in the following 2 years. There are quite a few places on the world that aren't accessible yet, that have 'we will be using this in the future' written all over it. And what about the likely possibility of new races? (Offtopic question: Which race has the most potential to become playable? My money's on the Tengu). So what I'm saying here is, be patient! These are artists at work, new content will be there before you know it.

But to the ying must come the yang.. there are a few major gripes about this game that prevent me from doing a naked victory dance on top of a pile of burning WoW discs and sending the pictures to every forum dedicated to WoW ever.
First of all, the story. Or stories, but it still all comes down to beating up the mean dragons. It's completely generic and predictable, and being told in a rather lazy fashion, but I suppose you have to make sacrifices if you want such an expansive, living and breathing world full of dynamic events, with money not growing on trees and all.

Then there's the armor/weapon issues. From clipping monstrosities to a staff/shield/greatsword/rifle floating 3 inches from your back, strange discolorations and rather bland or downright ugly armor sets for the most part (my opinion, especially most of the dungeon sets), I really think this in dire need of improvement. I'm sure there will be many new armor sets in the future, and clipping/glitches can be fixed, but I'm not too sure about the 'floating' thing. Even some armor like masks and shoulder pieces seem to do this. And what's with majority of Charr armor not having tailholes!?

And finally: The arbitrary bullshit you have to deal with during some of the heart missions. Help feeding the cows and clean up graffiti? I know this is supposed to give you a feeling of building your name as hero of the people, but handing the same piece of meat from the same meatrack to the same hungry charr that is literally standing 3 meters from said meatrack until a bar is filled is just BUSYWORK. Do these needy motherfuckers want the dragons dead, or what?

Bottom line: Though the game is far from perfect, the mind-dazzling environments, dynamic & exciting combat, community and excellent replay value make sure you get your money's worth.

If you feel like teaming up some time, leave me an inbox message. My world is Kaineng, USA.

GW2 is an awesome game, but there's nothing to do at level cap.

All of the gear is the same, so once you get up there, you just craft yourself some level 80 gear and then you're done. There's no reason to do anything else. It was a fantastic leveling experience, but it was rather mind-numbing at level cap.
