Guinness World Records 2009 Gamer's Edition: Top 50 Console Games of All Time

That's the most horrible list ever. Did anybody actually go to the site and read the text? They have no real method to determine what is where on the list, just mixing franchises up with single games at random. If they can't get actual sales figures for single games, they should not put it in the book. Wait, I have a better idea - they should not release the book at all. Waste of money.

wii sports is on there becuase of the pure amount of sales it has had... it is the no.1 selling game of all time, that and nintendogs (this is sold by itself, not pakaged with a console)

but I dont know, i never like these lists... how can you posibly rate a game as best of all time... It seems like a personal prefrence thing....

This is a shocking list. Where is Majora's Mask? No Space Invaders?

I also doubt that Mario Kart is the best game ever...

I have to agree, Majoras Mask was a great dark game from beginning to end.

System Shock 2 isn't a console game.

I don't like countdowns, no-one other than the person (or persons) that wrote this will agree with absolutely everything on this list.

Wii sports but not wow? (note I quit playing wow a long time ago) Are they freaking insane? WoW has to be the most successful game ever.

I would have liked KOTOR to be a little higher up on the list but otherwise it's pretty accurate to me, though, yeah, what's up with wii sports? Innovative, yes, but not worthy of being a top 50 member.

it looks like for most, they just went with sales charts. im really puzzled that mario kart got 1. its a good game, just seems odd it would be so high.

anyway, though i dont agree with the placement of a lot of them, many of the games i do feel belong in the top 50.
also, where is killer7? a game such as that belongs int here just for the sake of artistic expression alone.

Pfft...Edge did a far better compilation a while back. Nice n' chunky special edition too of the Top 100 games of all time, with almost all the games getting at least a page each.
Still...while I can't disagree with a lot of those Guinness choices, it is by no means a definitive list, even for a top 50.

I believe these were missing. Mega Man 2,3,5 and 9 were Great and atleast one should have made it and GTA III is what most free roam games are based on. Nights theme was very Memorable. Overall Guinness was missing games. If there was a top 100 I know they would be there.
