YouTube has basically made it possible to bully content creators, so naturally people are going to try it.
I hope that someone with enough time and money can create a third party system to track the assault or closure of smaller youtube accounts by companies that seek to Censor and AstroTurf.
I think I'd enjoy that. The problem right now is that it's cheaper for YouTube to fold than fight. The only solution seems to be to address that.

I'm inclined to believe that this is one huge hoax. If only because of how idiotic this company seems to be behaving.

I can understand the censorship. What I can't comprehend is how any company would choose to communicate in such an unprofessional manner.

I mean really, this woman has the vocabulary of a high-schooler. She doesn't even know the difference between then and than.

Who? The developers? They probably won't stay long in business anymore.

Well thank God this got worked out. I swear, this attempt at culling criticism from anyone besides big-name publishers is ridiculous. Hell, even the full-sized publications like IGN, MetaCritic and so on aren't immune to attempts at strong-arming from developers. I know the internet is a global thing and that America (or any country for that matter) isn't a 100 percent flawless model for government, but this really is trampling all over the democratic ideal of the right to free speech. Everybody's got a right to hold and express an opinion; developing a knee-jerk reaction of immediately calling slander and libel, demanding anything unflattering about your products or services be taken down just makes a company look insecure, stupid and petulant. It also makes it look like they're trying to cover up poor quality rather than respond in any sort of intelligent and mature fashion.

The worst part about all of this?
That woman can't spell "than" and I presume it's more-or-less part of her job.
How. Can. It. Be. So. Hard!?!
"...Our company is a lot bigger then your little youtube channel..."
Raaaaaahhhh!

It's my pet hate. (Can you tell? :)

[edit] Actually where are Fun Creators (what a shitty name) based? Because from reading all the mails that Jasmine woman wrote, it doesn't actually sound like English is her first language.

Eh? Are you for real?
Agreeing to wanton censorship, underhanded tactics and lies because someone else has an opinion and just because you probably don't like his content?
That seems naive, childish and that statement makes you look like quite simple-minded.

And if you take offence to the above please explain how this is "injustice" and why a "more persistent developer should come along and destroy him"?
(And what? Just for the sake of? Just come along and destroy TB because..?)

So you'd rather have more companies forcefully remove and punish reviewers for giving negative criticism on something, despite the fact that while Fair Use is outdated, reviews and critiques are specifically stated as being legal and falling under Fair Use, all because you don't like the one person.
I'm sorry, but while I myself can't stand TotalBuscuit at all, I'd still not want to have it that it's okay for companies to remove said negative reviews, especially in the event that the product itself is a broken, unplayable mess like Guise of the Wolf was.

Actually, some people really ARE that stupid. Ah, who was that person illicitly funding her political gain who then, in court, produced some really bad forged documents held together by TAPE? I forget who that was, but it was so ridiculous and the judge gave her such a reaming for it. Besides, looking at the review, I would say the intellect level is low on the developers' part.

I'd like to direct everyone who keeps going "omg what's wrong with these devs someone should sue them" to my previous posts. Long story short: The dev is acting like a delusional Narcissist; he's genuinely crazy and was trying to shut down TB's channel because he didn't know how the Polaris network works and wouldn't believe you if you told him, and taking him to court would be an extremely painful process for Mr. Biscuit that would not be worth his time and mental health. I provided more evidence in my other posts and don't want to get a reputation as the one guy who only bangs on about the one issue. So yeah. Woo TB!

So I guess he shouldn't have the right to voice his opinion about something? Why? Because you don't like him? Should only people that you like get to voice their opinions?

Not matter how this story ends, FUN Creator's reputation will be in the absolute crapshot for a long damn time. Screwing with TB was a big mistake and just like Wild Game Studios, they will learn the hard way that gaming critics like TB have a right to fair use.

What really bugs me about this the most is the Chilling Effect this will have on TB going forwards. How long until three Bad Game Developers all issue coordinated strikes against him simultaneously? Youtube's automated nightmare bureaucracy robots will simply delete his account before he can jump through the hoops necessary to prevent it. No wonder his SO keeps trying to get him to "reinvent himself" and become more positive.

When reviewers start ignoring the negative aspects of bad games and focusing on the positives, we as consumers lose even the possibility of becoming informed.

When TotalBiscuit falls, Youtube gaming channels are dead.

Nah, AngryJoe gave a description of how this works [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QAi81_uvztM]. You have a BIT of control over how this happens. When the whole automated system debacle happened, a lot of youtubers got dozens of videos taken down. You only get strikes in the process of fighting to have them re-added, so you can only work on getting two videos reinstated at a time if you don't want to risk losing the channel. It still sucks, but you won't lose everything instantly.

If you go to FUN Creators twitter page you can see the different tweets during the whole thing and then the ones that came after and there is a VERY different tone to them. Someone obviously got fired after all this.

I hope TB gets a chance to wreck these guys in every meaningful way possible. If he or his backing group finds a way to clean out FUN Creation's coffers, I'd be okay with that outcome. I will gleefully watch this dev team and their work burn to the ground as well.

Whatever your opinion on TB, even if you loathe him or his work, this is a fight against anti-consumer censorship of criticism and blatant abuses of power, not to mention probably an illegal action, and these lying, threatening, cheating scumbags should damn well get what's coming to them.
