When I was a kid I swallowed my gum but now I just combine it with more and more pieces of gum until my pack is empty. Once that happens and all the flavor is gone I spit it out.

Actually what I do is tilt my head forward with my mouth wide open, then gravity does the rest.

I hate it when people say swallowing gum "stays in your digestive tract for [insert number of years here]." It's food. It passes out your pooper like anything else. If gum clogs up your digestive tract, I'd have been dead a long time ago.

It is not. It, like everything else, will pass through your tract no problem.

The urban myth is that it stays in your system for seven years, and yes it would take awhile for your stomach acids to eat away at it, maybe even that long...IF your body didn't pass it like it passes everything else.
