They make people drink a lot of shitty beer and cause murders.
Videogames make people eat a lot of shitty food and cause mass murders.

ONE IS OBVIOUSLY WORSE
They do not cause mass murders. Thats just the bullshit the media print whenever someone who once touched a videogame goes and does something like that. Insane sport fanatics are different.
My favorite is channel 12 news in one area talked about a man's garden, where police found bodies (plural) buried. The newcasters just couldn't resist that the man, while working in his garden, would listen to a song called "Piles of Bodies" by a band called "Decapitated Cattle"... now if said news station did ANY research, they would realize that that song by that band was a message of anti animal abuse and had nothing to do with killing people really. Or what about fox news labeling a murder a "Goth" murder since the guy was into the Goth culture, they had voltaire on and he asked "Well let me ask you this, if he listened to country would it be a country murder? If he listened to The Blues, would it be a Blues murder?"

It's the one with the beer, right?
Yes.
But that's not the reason it's worse.
A single murder?
Pathetic!
Mass killings?
Cool dude who doesn't afraid of anything.
Dude....4chan joke? Deary me.

On topic...did he just advise us to make gaming a pastime?

*clap*

Wow. The irony from this.... it's just astounding.

Considering he allowed so many Gundam games to be made, and some of them not even being that good, he's only adding to the problem.

Technically he only has control over U.C. and even that is handled by Bandai Namco.

I'm just saying he really doesn't have a choice, I mean you haven't seen or heard of a Xabungle, Zambot, Daitarn, L-Gaim, Ideon, Dunbine game have you?

Honestly you probably don't even know what I'm talking about, and that means your not as huge a nerd as me.

Just saying just because you made something doesn't mean your involved with the video games at all, your parent company is. Hell if it were up to him Gundam would have been completely white instead of colourful.
So he didn't allow the games to be made?

Damn, I wish he had a bit more control over them.

He has a giant robot.
He can say whatever the Hell he wants at this point.
Hard to argue with a man who can brandish a cannon the size of Guatemala, eh?
Really bad idea to argue with a man who admitted that making Anime has helped calm his desire to want to kill people.

I'm SERIOUS

"...Also by directing combat and war pieces, I could experiance catharsis and successfully avoid commiting a murder in real life."
So wait, it's fine for him to direct anime that helps curb his homicidal tendencies (and really, that's a pretty gamer-esque statement as i'm about to bring forth) but it's not ok for anyone to have that same level of cathartic release playing videogames?

Bull. Crap.

Speaking as someone who really appreciates Tomino's work and the effect he had in creating the Real Robot genre, I'm calling hypocrisy on this.

He has a valid point.
huh?

Since when did having fun mean the death of humanity. Productivity leads you nowhere except a wasted life because you just end up spending less time being happy and more time working, which is ironic I suppose.

All video games require thinking of some sort.
Well, except FPSs.
And some shows do have complex plots, but they happen once in a lifetime.

Tomino made Overman King Gainer, a show where the main character saved the world through skills learned through videogames.

What?

Physical fitness, health, outdoor activities, shall I go on?

Sports are far better for society than video games.

You can get physical fitness, health and 'outdoor activities' by going for a jog every evening.

What've the Romans organised sports ever done for us?
