Wait... when they promise "doom" for Sony, does this mean that they want to put thousands and possibly millions of people out of work just for the lulz.

If Sony were to go out of business thousands of musicians, game developers, hardware manufacturers, researchers, administration, etc would all be affected pretty badly and maybe even lose their jobs completely. All for teh lulz.

I'm guessing these hacker crackers haven't noticed that the FBI and a few government organizations from other countries have gotten involved in this mess with Sony. Either that or they're arrogant enough to think that they can continue their foul deeds and remain elusive to all of the organizations that are now closely monitoring the company.
Er...the 'hacker crackers' who hacked Sony also hacked the FBI associate whose entire purpose is cyber security. Just saying.

"The original attacks against Sony were a reaction to the company suing hacker George Hotz and Sony's out of court settlement with Hotz doesn't seem to have let it off the hook"

So because Sony sued a person who hacked them, they should be hacked more...

Idiots.

These groups have done a pretty good job of remaining elusive so far, there's little these agencies can do if basic precautions (such as hacking from a Panera or other cafe with free internet) are taken

Geohotz was a completely different thing, and while I obviously hate these hackers, I actually support Geohotz, he simply cracked the PS3 to allow people to install the OtherOS feature that they paid for.

This have gotten silly, the members of LulzSec need to grow up, Their childish behavior is simply sickening, Anonymous does at lest have some goals that they want to achieve. but this, as I said is just sickening.
One of their tweets:
"Don't know what PS3 users are complaining about. They got a chance to get fresh air and were rewarded with free games a month later."

Seriously ?

Good point, I forgot about that article.

So...what? Have hackers become the "ultimate criminals?" They're nearly impossible to track and when you do find a hacker group the best you can do is offer them a ridiculously high paying job so you can at least monitor and somewhat control their actions. No wonder those kind of people are always so smug. Even if it may not be completely true, I'm willing to bet that they feel as if they are above the law.

Don't these nerds have ANYTHING better to do? These "hackers" are probably suburban anti-social teenagers all pumped against "the man" after browsing 4chan. Seriously. Fuck those guys. I don't even own a PS3 and I'm pissed off.

Why doesn't sony BRING OUT THE LAW!!!
(In both terms...)

But seriously, these guys are doing this because a guy broke an obvious law, you cannot steal, in which that guy did. and now they are all "FURP FURP, LET'S TAKE DOWN A COMPANY FOR DEFENDING ITS RIGHTS!"
I hope everything those hackers own gets stolen from them, that might enlighten them a bit.

Well now one of them has been arrested (I don't buy them claiming they're not connected, the FBI is after them, I'd be panicking and denying I know anyone too) so looks like this is coming to an end. Luckily these guys aren't smart enough to get away with it like the PSN hackers.

ok im gonna say it,THIS IS NOT THE WAY YOU MORONS! there are better and less damaging ways that dont damage gaming as a whole...at this rate WE are gonna ruin gaming, not the COMPANIES that we SHOULD be trying to ENCOURAGE to MAKE BETTER GAMES,like not buying the SAME game over again.we need to work together to better the gaming industry as a whole, and once again THIS IS NOT THAT WAY!

When I first read the title I thought they were porting Doom to the PSN for us...

This is the exact opposite of giving us stuff.

Now I'm disappointed, and I want to play Doom.
