Microsoft really should keep their game on servers not connected in any way to the internet. If somebody needs it outside of the building, then have somebody in security give them a copy, make them sign a document saying you own his ass if they leak it and watch him or her. Hackers are going to be a pain so security needs to be air tight especially on projects like this.

True there are some who do it just for the sake of doing it, but that doesn't mean there aren't those who do it for the publicity.
That is of course true, but the fact that these hackers have chosen not to distribute the material suggests that they perhaps are somewhat over the script-kiddie pissing contest.

Well, since Blizzard hammered a single person for $88 million, Microsoft will probably find them, get them in the courts and sued for their souls and every penny they have touched or will ever touch.
they'll wish Microsoft's personal Spartan SWAT team had just finished them off! lolll

I'll bet the modders only got the game so they could see if they liked it enough to buy it.
I'd counter bet that this was to see if they could circumvent the security Microsoft put up to protect the unreleased title.

that is how pirates work right?
No, that's what Pirates tell themselves when they're trying to convince themselves that they're not simply petty thieves who are parasitically destroying the industry they profess to love.

Micro$oft just can't stand it when someone supports there games enough to steal them before they come out.
How does that make sense? These people haven't supported the game at all yet. It's like someone breaking into your house, and making off with a couple disks from your DVD collection. That doesn't "support" you in any way shape or form.

Shameful Micro$oft, really.
Huh? They just got emugged and you're saying shame on them? In fact they just got emugged while trying to find a way to theoretically improve distribution to reviewers.

lol first if they actualy hacked MS they are so caught and sued (they posted on a forum and hacking a major corperation means its now a FBI matter) but i beleave this is a hoax or an allowed hack by MS to get the game more pubilcity.

funny, the knee jerk reaction i had was "go hackers!!" but then i met the announcement of Reach with the some level of contempt as i do when i hear American Idol is on.

course, the 'no intent to distribute' statement, has me thinking its less hacking and more hype

Never mind the fact the judge only ruled that amount because Reeves didn't bother to show up and defend her case.

That's what a default judgment means. Reeves didn't bother to show up, judge shrugged his shoulders and awarded 3 million in damages(Which is approximately what she unlawfully earned) and 85 million in statutory damages that she likely could have escaped or negotiated away from if she had even bothered to show the fuck up to the trial.

Who the fuck would have guessed not taking a lawsuit from a major corporation seriously could result in getting butt fucked by the legal system huh?

Worst part is, I've run into posters on here (and elsewhere) who would make that exact post with absolute sincerity.

These guys deserve a lawsuit for the sole reason they were dumb enough to shoot their mouths off about this,

THE ENDING IS THEY ALL RIDE A GIANT PINK ELEPHANT INTO THE SUN AND LIVE HAPPILY EVER AFTER, EACH OF THEM WITH THREE BLONDE SPARTAN WIVES AND ALL THE TREASURE THEY STOLE FROM REACH!

Ok, not really. But I know there's going to be a hell of a lot of spoilers springing up all over the web from this. Whether or not they're all genuine is a different matter, but MS is going to have to be diligent if they plan on clearing them up.
I do agree here. Spoilers might not affect Microsoft too much (unless it gets a horrendous review and doesn't sell quite as well) but it'll ruin the gaming rexperiance for alot of people and I doubt microsoft might risk things getting out before the game. THe only question I'm wondering is how far they might go to ensure spoilers arn't released. Will they hold off from warnings and bans for fear of leaks? Hmmmm...

If only they would have done something to destroy Halo...

And make Bungiee release something new and not recycled cartoon alien fiction.

Alas..
