As for the topic; why is this a surprise? Almost every game that's released on physical copies leak. Not always to the public, but they leak. When I worked in retail, I could have just 'pre-ordered' a copy and play it well before release. I imagine high profile games like these leak thousands of times over around the world.

But I thought only PC games got leaked early, because of, you know, piracy and junk.

In some countries you can only get pirated copies of X-Box 360 games (there's an article about it here on the Escapist). X-Box 360 piracy is just as bad (if not worse), but publishers like to use the piracy excuse for various reasons.

Can somebody please explain to me why M$ is panicking?This leak can stir up much more hype than CGI trailers.If they think they are going to lose sales,they should be smoking a bit more money to realize that people are going to buy it anyway,be it 16-year olds or grandmas.
Sure it's not a complete build that's not representative of the final product,but some people want to see GAMEPLAY,has anything changed and is it good?
ME3 leaked,sold through the roof.Deus Ex:HR leaked half a year before release,still sold over a million.Crysis 2 leaked,still sold well for a sequel.

Sounds about right.

All that's left for me to know is whether or not there are boss fights. Since it's an even numbered game I'll assume they're going to half-ass it with maybe 2 or 3.

Apparently, in this one, Arbiter reveals himself to be the Chief's father, Cortana turns out to be a figment of his imagination(meaning it was Chief who started fight club), and Master Chief takes off his helmet to reveal he was Bruce Willis... And dead the whole time.

Strangely enough, I can't really feel bad about this. One would think I would be sympathetic to the developer, but my imaginary angel and demon have discussed it at length and I've come to the conclusion that piracy raping a console (with Halo, no less) is kinda hilarious.

i heard that MC finds a cloning facility where some of his DNA is used to create a race of super humans and he ends up fleeing in that facility(which was actually a stranded and overgrown ship) to crash land on Sera, finally explain why everyone in gear is absurdly muscular.
