Soundtrack sounds great, just one problem...Elites again! COME ON!! Was I the only one hoping that they would introduce a new species into the franchise!
I hold out hope the reappearance of the Covenant will be downplayed, and that perhaps they're on the lamb from something else. Nothing to go on for that mind, just something I'd like to see.

OT: Looks good. Sounds good. Not sure if buying on release, but will probably get at a later date.

The soundtrack seems extremely cliche to me. Like its desperately trying to be epic but running out of steam before the half way mark, so it just stumbles along tripping over its own ankles.
I hate to say it, but I agree.

Why do I hate to say it? Simple, really. Because Neil Davidge is the lead composer.

Who is Neil Davidge? Well, he's one of the primary members of Massive Attack. A musical group I absolutely adore.

Now, these are a scant few 'samples', so they're not likely a good representation of the final soundtrack. However, considering how generic these sound already I'm greatly disappointed.

Regardless, I'm still not looking forward to Halo 4. I played Anniversary. As such, I'm of the mindset that 343 is incapable of making a good game.

I mean, all they had to do was add a new coat of paint on Halo: CE and add in the multiplayer for Reach. Yet, they somehow found a way to **** it up. Not really excited to see how they fair working on something from the ground up.
Wow, THAT Neil Davidge? Well, thats surprising. I had no fucking idea...

Doesnt make the soundtrack any better though.

EDIT: To add to that, I would have never guessed. I have been listening to Massive Attack for as long as I can remember. Hell, I have been listening to Massive Attack before I was even born really, since my moms a big fan.

This would usually be the point where I praise Neil for his artistic variety, but as previously mentioned, the soundtrack isnt all that good...
That's why the reveals so far have been such a let down for me. Like I'd said before, I really didn't give a damn about Halo 4; in any regard. But when I heard Davidge would be one of the lead composers, I started thinking, "What?! Really? Well then, at least the soundtrack will be good. Can't wait to hear it."

Then I heard the samples...

And I went from this:

This is the first halo game that i havent been crapping my pants in anticipation for, in fact im kind of dreading it. In my opinion the halo's campaign modes have been getting gradually worse since halo:ce whereas the multiplayer modes have been getting gradually better. For this installment I foresee the campaign trend continuing, but i fear the multiplayer is going to be crap, considering how 343 wrecked the halo reach multiplayer the second bungie got out of there i liked that it was so different from halo 3s multiplayer, that way it felt like i was actually playing a different game. i could ramble on about my fears for this game for ages, it doesnt make a difference though as im going to buy it anyway, not to encourage 343 but because im a halo fanboy.
P.S. The main enemy is obviously going to be sentinels and other forerunner construct type enemies.

Kinda dissapointed that the covenant look like the main enemies again, kinda hoped it would be a new foe :/ oh well, Music sounds great, which has been the most important part of Halo for me, screenshots look nice too, looks pretty good, I just can't wait to see how they will explain the human weapons/vehicles on that planet, there can't be that many on the crashed ship...
No, they aren't. In fact after the first level you never fight Elites, Grunts, and so on ever again in the game.

As for the weapons, you run across the UNSC Infinity through out the SP, and the Forward Unto Dawn they stated still has some Worthogs and such on it.

Most likely they will either not appear at all or very briefly be shown. Since the Elites in the very start seem to be pirates or raiders, not part of the Covenant which makes sense considering they said there is no brutes, and their armor isn't military grade.

Sounds awesome but i only can think of one thing that can improve it.

Needs moar monks. Seriously once you hear the monks you instantly think Master Chief and Halo CE and its a shame they haven't exploited the association between the two.

Still, it does sound pretty good, just reminds me of movie music more than a game soundtrack.
