I'll get the popcorn and the flame proof suits. I'm honestly interested to see if Black Ops 2 is going in a different direction or not, and since my brother is picking it up, I'll get a chance to checkSassafrass said:Interesting review, I'll be picking this up closer to Christmas though.
And based on what I've seen here, I can't wait to see the comment section for the Black Ops 2 review, that should be a laugh.
I fail to see how Reach was a massive fuck you. It had the most interesting cast of characters by far, and it captured the feeling of a desperate, bloody minded struggle against overwhelming odds.Shocksplicer said:The story is actually pretty damn excellent if you've read the books from what I've heard.
I'm happy they're rewarding people for reading the books, especially after the massive Fuck You that was Halo: Reach.
Cause its not 6/5.Korten12 said:Oh boy... Here we go...The Fonsz said:Typical of the escapist to hate Halo and attack every little flaw in the game. Your getting payed by Activision to say cod is better. You guys give dishonored and assassins creed better scores and every other review site gives Halo is better than both.
The Escapist reviews are crap, and the only thing that runs this site is zero and jim the rest of you guys should resign.
Also how is 4/5 bad?

Because it wen't against canon, making Spartan-III's on Reach with MJOLNIR, Jorge a randomly added Spartan-II who was also apparently helped Kurt train the III's with Mendez, making the Covenant find Reach much earlier on then in the book which made it seem more like a desperate fight as in the book it fell in three days, Cortana being on Reach when she was with the MC on the Autumn, and the Autumn also landing on the planet when it never did.Rainboq said:I fail to see how Reach was a massive fuck you. Or you could picture it as retconning some of the details. Also, sticking to cannon rigidly doesn't make for a very interesting game, because books and games are very different medium. Also, welcome to the pain of the Dr. Who fans.Korten12 said:Because it wen't against canon, making Spartan-III's on Reach with MJOLNIR, Jorge a randomly added Spartan-II who was also apparently helped Kurt train the III's with Mendez, making the Covenant find Reach much earlier on then in the book which made it seem more like a desperate fight as in the book it fell in three days, Cortana being on Reach when she was with the MC on the Autumn, and the Autumn also landing on the planet when it never did.Rainboq said:I fail to see how Reach was a massive fuck you. Simply it took a story that was already there and could have filled a story and just added a bunch of BS. Had they made it about Blue-Team on Reach, or even just a group of Marines and such it would have made more sense. But instead they changed and added a lot of BS to the story. Thus why many fans wish they could forget Reach as it shits on the book The Fall of Reach.
God that was like fellatio in review form. I'm sure if it's possible to be more kiss-ass.Saulkar said:IGN! You ass kissing fuckwits!
I more or less expected this kind of response from the Escapist review staff, it has become par for the course for the previous installments. The campaign does not completely suck and multiplayer remains solid. I feel that is a fair summary. IGN on the other hand makes it sound like the second coming of sliced bread.

People keep saying "Oh it's a great story....If you read the books that is..." Uh sorry I kinda gave up Game based reading material a long time ago. So does that mean I am pretty much screwed out of the narrative because I decided to read Tom Clancy's 'Rainbow Six,' or David Baldacci's 'The Innocent' instead of a book based off a video game? (Note: Rainbow Six the book came out way before the games even existed.)Shocksplicer said:The story is actually pretty damn excellent if you've read the books from what I've heard.

Irrational fans of franchises expect people to give their games a perfect score no matter what.Shocksplicer said:Also, why are people acting like this is a negative review? 4/5 is good! The comments about the story aren't very accurate from what I've heard, but still!
I do thank you for bringing their review here to me because I don't watch their stuff.Saulkar said:IGN! You ass kissing fuckwits!
