I like Halo, I like them all but my point is I just don't like seeing developers create more games just for the sake of money cause they know fans will buy them, hell even if they are good. I'd wanna see something new from them that possibly can be even better.ZeroMachine said:And yet there are plenty of newer games in the "overkilled" series that are actually good. GTA4, Super Mario Galaxy, and from what I understand the Pokemon games still have their charm.EcksTeaSea said:Hence why I say theres too many Halo games, I don't want to see Halo reach that point where there are many games in it, its overkill.
Seriously, just play the ones you like and don't play the ones you don't. It's that simple. Don't go around saying the series should stop. Do you realize how many people want more Halo? More want than don't, man. You're outnumbered, which is why they are making more.
What about the first one, and ODST?Origin Of Resistance said:Kill it now. Seriously, I don't like any of the Halo games. Halo 2 was good, and Halo 3 was tolerable. But now, this is getting silly.
Indeed. I've never quite seen this kind of... anxiety about Mario games, not really for Pokémon games, and not at all for Madden games.ZeroMachine said:OK, seriously, I'm sick and fucking tired of people saying there are too many Halo games. There are four, five if you count ODST, and six if you count the yet-to-be-released Reach.
So let's just go with that. Six. How many Call of Duty games are there? How many Mario games are there? How many Pokemon? Grand Theft Auto? Final Fantasy?
I mean, come on, guys. I've never seen a game get bashed for having just six games (one of which barely counts!). How about you just wait and see what games they have coming out and judge them on being a game rather than them being a Halo game? Is it really that hard? Do people really have to ***** and moan this much about a huge franchise? Seriously, it's not like it's a first...
Way more than 6 Cods, my friend:oppp7 said:6 CoD, about 17 main pokemon games/versions, almost 13 Final Fantasy games, and I'm not going to count the Mario or GTA games...ZeroMachine said:OK, seriously, I'm sick and fucking tired of people saying there are too many Halo games. Bungie has said since before the first Halo came out, and quite a few times since then, that they are separate universes.JaredXE said:It's easy to see where this is going, they are just bridging the obvious gap from Halo 3 to Bungie's Marathon series. The games pretty much go together, with Halo being the prequel.
Final Fantasy has been around for over 25 years too. 25 years:12 games vs. 7 years:6 games.Poopie McGhee said:I'd play if i thought they'd be cool...

They never said that, they said it was the end of the current storyline.Tdc2182 said:They said halo 3 was going to be the last game but look where we are now.Blanks said:Didn't they say Reach was going to be the last game?

The problem isn't pure numbers of games (can't compare things like Mario and Final Fantasy that have been around since the original NES to a series that started on the XBOX) but the number of them in the short span of time. Halo 1 took a long time to make, and it was a good game. Halo 2 took less time and wasn't as good, Halo 3 took even less time and was even worse. These other Halo games are coming out at the rate of about 1 a year and quality has been going down faster with each game (don't get me started on COD games, I hate those too.)
I fight that with this [http://halostory.bungie.org/news.html]. People have dedicated years of their lives to understanding and interpreting the Halo story. You simply can't do that if it isn't pretty substantial.teutonicman said:The storyline..... really... that why there continuing the franchise?! That is such bullshit, the ONLY reason why halo is still popular is because of the multi-player.
Said the guy who joined, naming himself after a 4chan meme, just today, with only one post, so apparently just to post this. Is money involved? Definitely. Is that the primary motivation? There's a good chance it is. Does that mean they can't take fans and non-fans into consideration and make good games? Nope.i_herd_u_liek_mudkip said:Holy shit guys, do you not see the OP's point? (Wait, hold on, let me put this here first. READ THIS THROUGH, DON'T STOP IN THE MIDDLE JUST BECAUSE YOU DON'T LIKE IT.) The developer is milking halo for all its worth. It has nothing to do with liking the series or hating it. What the developers are doing is exactly what happened to Final Fantasy 7. Sucking out every single last drop of the franchise to please fanboys everywhere and making easy money. All of you "IDC I LURV HALO" are the ones being suckered into this little scheme. Don't get me wrong, I myself love some games to death no matter what (i.e. tales series, resident evil, final fantasy), but you're all straying from the point. Each consecutive halo is just an upgraded version of the last, not something new, not something original, just an upgrade with a $60 price tag pretending its something out of this world...or at least the fans make it sound like that. The RTS being an exception, which I haven't played, and probably won't.
P.S. I hated Dirge of Cerberus, RE4 makes me puke, [sarcasm]and we all know how RE5 is so original and badass, I haven't seen anything like it[/sarcasm]
P.P.S. THIS THREAD STILL HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH I LIKE/HATE HALO. STOP MAKING IT LIKE THAT.
