The "shock" scene in MW3 got me most recently. I was plaing on my new 46" TV with my headphones on and I was totally immersed in the game. That just came out of nowhere and I actually had to stop and chill, I suppose it was more the absolute horror of war plus being totally focused on the game or whatever rather than sadness that got me, but yeah.

Also in Gears 3
Dom's Death
Which is funny because even though I had played 1 and 2 I didn't really care for them, maybe 3 was just done really well.

And probably a few other things but I can't really remember what.

*Looks at calendar... Yep, it's time to make the 'What game made you cry' thread yet again...

I got misty eyed several times in Lost Odyssey. The story (memory) of the prisoner kept in darkness got to me, and I'll never forget it. Poor guy just wanted to see the light...
That game got to me too. I'm still playing it, and it's gotten to me a few times. The scene with Lirium was pretty teary, but the thing that really got to me was the first dream, Hanna's Departure. Holy crap. I mean seriously, here it is. It's heartbreaking. Don't worry, there are no spoilers in this; it's a self-contained bit of backstory.

Other games are Rogue Galaxy, Final Fantasy VI, Final Fantasy X, Beyond Good and Evil, Okami... and others I'm not remembering for some reason.

Oh, and Clannad. Though for time reasons I recommend just watching the anime rather than playing the game; it takes a lot of time and effort to get running, then the actual game... well the popular guide for getting through it is called the "Clannad 300 hour guide." You may as well just watch the 2-season anime, cry like a baby, and play the game if you really loved it and want to see the other story arcs. But in all seriousness, Clannad breaks you. It breaks you hard.

Oh, and Profesor Layton and the Unwound Future. Holy crap.

The darkness. I can remember beating it and not being able to stop crying afterwards for a good five minutes or so. Still get a few tears in my eyes when I hear Jenny's theme.
Gotta agree, in my opinion The Darkness has one of the greatest tragic endings.

Hmmm... Well, Republic Commando came close.
Sev's death
seemed to come out of nowhere in an otherwise light-hearted shoot-em-up game. Besides that, you don't usually expect the one of the good guys to die in a Star Wars game.

None have actually moved me to tears but these are what came closest.

'The Boss' fight
- From Naomi's death pretty much up until the ending.
When you have to put Carlos out of his misery
[spoiler-Gears Of War 2] Dom putting Maria out of her misery[/spoiler]
Dom's sacrifice

And oddly,
Soap's death. I was pretty sure that he was going to survive. Obviously he didn't. Got me right in the mood to kill Makarov. So hats off to Infinity Ward for that I suppose.

EDIT: And now that others have posted about other games...

Jenny's death, and the ending

and

Lirum's death. Especially since Kaim had barely just found out she was alive, and some of the Dreams

The epilogue to fallout 3.

Just when that sad music played and the showed the picture of the Lone Wanderer and the dad...I shed a single tear.

I am a guy and I dont hesitate to admit that I got chocked up and shed a tear right there.
The music and the all those lines made me happy and sad all at the same time.

Added to it I felt like I had actually done SOMETHING for such a crap sack world and maybe would serve as an example for people. Then cue the Broken Steel DLC and I got betteritis.

The ending of Red Dead Redemption
The final cutscene of Shadow of the Colossus
The final boss fight of Portal 2
The twist ending of Silent Hill Shattered Memories
The "Good" Ending of Infamous 2

Good games, every single one of them. Powerful stuff.

Well...when I was like...10 I was so happy when I defeated Red in Pokemon Silver version that I cried. For my little child mind at the time I couldn't grasp why I'd been crying, but I think now I know. It wasn't because Red was tough, on the contrary, I'd gone completely without noticing him and had grinded all of my pokemon to the mid-seventies before stumbling across him as I explored Mt. Silver.

It was that sense of completion. From Red version to Silver version, my adventure had come full-circle. I had started in Pallet town with a Charmander, and ended all the way at Mt. Silver with my level 75 Typhlosion.

As my Typhlosion dealt that final blow to "My" Charizard, I just began blubbering and wailing out of joy. It was one of the best games I'd ever played, and that Charizard, MY Charizard, was there with me and my Typhlosion at the very end.

Just reminiscing about that day and talking about it like that brings back that feeling...I have something in my eye.

I don't think I've ever actually cried while playing a game, but there have been a few fantastic moments that have really tugged at my heart strings. The ones that stand out the most in my mind are Aerie's romance dialogue from Baldur's Gate 2, the ending of Red Dead Redemption, and the good endings of Bioshock 1 & 2.

I've never cried at a video game. Yes I get very involved in my games, but to me when it comes down to it they are just pixels. I may be dissapointed or upset but never cried.

I AM ALL THAT IS MAN!! (lol jk, but i don't cry easily)

Not really, no.

Though I will say that the one scene in Saints Row 2 was surprisingly moving. You know, that one Brotherhood mission.

Also Aisha's death. Played the first game, seeing her die in the second... just damn man.
Yeah, felt the same way with both these...events, same with Lin's death in the first Saints Row, but then I got enraged with William Sharp for causing it...

But I think what moved me the most was that one part in Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door, I had to deal with that one part of the main quest that involved recruiting Bobbery, I learned about his wife Scarlet.. what happened to her... how he felt... that letter she wrote to him... dang it! I think I'm shedding tears just typing this!

Ending of FF7: Crisis Core. Oh god Zack nooooo! :( It was my first time crying during a game and I have done that many times more after that. Kingdom Hearts: Days made me cry quite a lot too. Roxas doesn't deserve that kind of life...

The ending to inFAMOUS 2, both of them actually.
I'll be damned if the game didn't hit me hard when the credits rolled.

The entire ending. Especially after you beat Ghetsis, and then "N's Farewell" plays...The whole damn thing was just...it really felt like the end, and that made me sad. And I actually didn't want to do the postgame afterwards; it ended too well.

Flint finding out about Hinawa's death and getting all angry. I knew it was coming and I still cried. That more than anything else about this game is impressive. Nintendo: Why haven't you translated this and put it on DSiWare yet?
