have a second language?

I can read French and Spanish fairly well, but unfortunately do not an ear for language.

I know a little Japanese from all the manga and anime I watch, so I know most of the colors, can recognize and order a lot of the native food, and know/recognize some formal/informal greetings and phrases.

Edit- I am also fluent in the reading/writing of Germanic runes but it is a dead language. So...yay?

Here in Belgium, we have three national languages: Dutch, French and German.
I was raised in Dutch, but I also speak French and some German, and of course English.

It is very ordinary for a Belgian to speak at least 3 languages.

Seems I don't need to explain this anymore.
I'm in the exact same situation.

almost all schools at least teach Spanish but ive seen latin, so what second language do you know? i dont have one but i can speak army phonetics. seirra echo echo tango hotel alpha tango. guess what i just said.

Italian and Japanese. I'm not a master of either but I can generally understand people when they speak it and I'm also generally able to read both. I'm not very good at speaking them myself however beyond basic conversation.
