Have you ever bought two copies of the same game on multiple platforms?

I dont think i've ever done that but I have been thinking about getting Mirror's Edge and Oblivion for the PC. I have them both on the PS3 and still enjoy the heck out of them but I want them for the PC because of the better graphics and also for the mods for Oblivion.

Well, not me, but each brother bought a game I already had on Steam with their new game system.

Left 4 Dead 2 when oldest brother bought a 360.

Borderlands GOTY edition when older brother bought PS3.

Also Fallout 3, but I didn't have any DLC and he got the GOTY.

Yes; specifically Penny Arcade Adventures: On the Rain-slick Precipice of Darkness Episodes 1 and 2. I bought it for all 4 (yes 4) platforms for two reasons. Firstly because I moved around a lot during college and thus switched platforms based on who was mooching and being mooched from, secondly because I loved the hell out of the games and wanted to support the creators/developers. Sadly, my wide-eyed optimism was for nothing as the games didn't do well enough to warrant a concluding sequel. *le sigh* :[

I have TF2 as a hard disc on PC, part of the orange box on PS3, and again as part of the Valve collection. The irony? I've never played TF2.

Yep. I bought Assassins Creed II and RE5 for PS3 in spite of already owning them on 360. The reason was mainly due to my achievement addiction, but also because it was the editions with all the DLC. It was pretty damn cheap anyways. Re-bought Oblivion for my 360 as well since it was the GOTY edition and I didn't have the expansions on my PC.

Also got PoP: Warrior Within for both PS2 and PS3, but that's because it came in a bundle with all the PS2 games for the PS3.

I did, but only out of sheer disappoint for the copy I had. The game was Star Wars: The Force Unleashed. I originally got it for the Wii because my little white motion control system needed some love and I really wanted to play this game. Spent 50 bucks on it only to find out that the graphics were okay, the motion control made my wrist sore, the controls were awkward and only responded about 60% of the time, and the story was just bleh. So I went out and bought a copy for Xbox 360 when I played it over at a friend's house.

Onlive is a cloud based distribution service that you can buy games with. I think Deus Ex: HR came with a code to get a free version of the game on onlive, that way you can play it on your PC without being forced to buy another copy (the reason I know about this is that there was this big scandal with Gamestop taking out all the onlive game codes because they are the competition; look it up).
Ahh, if that was the case then i wouldn't have that code anyway - i'm a UK resident and we don't have Gamestop here. As far as i'm aware, Europe generally isn't included in that type of thing. For a moment there you had me pretty excited!
Just to throw it out there... we do have Gamestop here.

GameStop Corporation (NYSE: GME) is an American video game and entertainment software retailer. The company, whose headquarters are in Grapevine, Texas, United States,[4] operates 6,500 retail stores throughout the United States, Canada, Australia, Austria, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, New Zealand, Norway, Portugal, Puerto Rico, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and in the United Kingdom. Nope. I've never bought a game twice. I always spend days thinking whether or not to buy a game so I always consider that what platform I want(almost always Xbox 360). I wouldn't buy a game again due to it the same game. I also don't having a massive amount of spare money(only 17, don't have a job yet). Even if I did have the money to do it I wouldn't, unless one version had a mass of extras the other didn't, and in thst case I'd just buy the one with more extras.

I don't want to pay twice for the same game.

Yup. I do every once in a while for a game I really want to play, all the time.

Yep 007 : Nightfire for Gamecube, Xbox and PS2. All working. No, I don't regret it. Best game of the last console generation, and the best James Bond Game. Period.

Not yet. But once Resident Evil 4 HD comes out on September 20th, I'm gettin' that sucker! (Provided that it's no more than $30.00).

EDIT: I have it for PS2, and HD will be on PS3.

The copy on PC would be the "dick around" copy, if you know what i mean. Use whatever gear i want, let myself suffer consequences as they come
couldn't you just.... play the game twice?

OT: Most Tom Clancy Games differ across platforms. So I've played Splinter a few times

I've got Star Wars: The Force Unleashed on PS2, PC and 360. I got the PC version because the PS2 version sucked, and I found a totally new, sealed copy for the 360 at Goodwill for $6.

I also have Sonic Adventure for the Dreamcast and 360. It's nice to play with shorter load times and no CD scratch-induced glitches.

I don't know if this counts but I have FF1/2 on GBA and PSP. Though the GBA version is one cartridge.

San Andreas for PS2 and then for PC.
Even with target locking, I thought that aiming by thumbstick made some of the missions tougher than they should have been & I wanted to see if mouse + keyboard control made aiming significantly better. "Significantly better" doesn't begin to describe it.
