Good thing I plan on playing my SS version for a long time, plus I plan on walking a lot and riding my bike and such a lot

Anyone who has to cheat to feel like they're accomplished enough that they unlocked all the maps doesn't deserve to call themself a fan...it's nice to see a game actually make walking an optional but rewarding chore. Only complaint is that pokemone only grow a single level no matter how many steps you've taken overall

The Pokewalker actually makes me want to play HeartGold; I walk everywhere anyway. I need to get another DS, first, but...

I had something similar as a kid. I didn't know you were supposed to actually walk, so I spent hours and hours shaking the damn thing. By hand. Seriously.
It was a digimon thing I bet, I had one like that too. Can't you do the same thing on the pokewalker? I remember jumping on the bed with it in my hand, shaking it, to rack up steps quickly.

I take 10,000 steps a day (3 mile walk to and another back every working day)

how many was it you needed?

Being a huge nerd, I've pretty much taken the thing with me everywhere since it came out, and to my horror I checked gamefaqs the other day to realise that I'd only just got past a third of the way. Think I'm on 40'000 watts atm, but that's still a long way to go ¬.¬

While it might seem like Nintendo is doing gamers a favor by forcing us to get some exercise, I can't help but feel bad for the 10-year-old kids out there that are already walking in circles in their living rooms, appearing somewhat crazy to their parents, just to be able to find some kind of special Pokéthing.
My little brother does that. He's seven.
