actually, seing that the first videos i watched about the game made me feel... weird, because the face and the body looked disjointed (IMO) i can see what he is talking about... lets just see what he can do better

Oi, he is trash talking before there was even proof that his tech is better? Tech that I wonder if he had anything to do with developing. I doubt he is going to give a shoutout to the people who helped developed the tech if it is actually good. I am expecting a simple
"Lol, I am awesome"
If it is actually better than Rockstar's

I honestly agree. But I also think that character animation should stay in the realm of animators. Actors are great, but an amazing animated character will always trump the emotion of someone just going through the motions as an "actor".

I actually agree with his comments a lot, mostly about the fact the actual body language is important and not just the face.

That said, he should stop being a ***** about it and knocking other companies for no real reason, at least not until his technology is, you know... out.

This isn't as facepalm worthy as the time he claimed to be the creator of interactive storytelling though, that was just hilarious.

This is all coming from a guy who absolutely loves Heavy Rain.

Dear Quantic Dream,
Put your Money where your mouth is. We look forward to this revolutionary game of yours.
Escapists(I hope)

On a side note: Dayum, that rifle is a thing of Beauty! There's just something about a wood paneled manual rifle.

Some of you are knocking Heavy Rain to the point you're forcing me to grow ear wax. David Cage's mouth =\= The complete quality of his recent game. I believe the biggest and most important thing to mock about Heavy Rain is the script and the plotholes you're destined to fall through.

Because seriously, you can drown in those holes...

But it's important to mention David Cage is an arrogant jerk-a-lurk. As a huge fan of ambitious and innovative games that do things right (which for somewhat-the-most-part, Heavy Rain does), it really, really sucks that he's the one leading the games. It kinda takes the whole "little guy doing what the big guys fear" cheer away. This said, knocking this game (yes, game; deal) to the point you're blurring your opinion with actual facts, especially because of Cage's words don't make you any better than he is.

And you don't want to be on that man's level of mudslinging.

I feel as though QD is feeling a bit threatened by LAN. Perhaps they're feeling that Rockstar is showing they can do what Heavy Rain could not and make realistic looking human characters? Either way, it's rather silly for them to be reacting in such a way.

I love how any topic that even mentions Quantic Dream immediately turns into a rant thread about how much Heavy Rain sucked.

David Cage is a dick, sure (although, having read his personal blog archives, I think he might actually be suffering from some severe mental ailments), but what did he say here that was false? Rockstar's mocap tech is good, and the game it made looks good (both of which he freely admits), but it IS incredibly expensive and it ISN'T versatile.

Yeah, pots and kettles and all, but still, this is bordering on ad hominem attacks.
This. Thousand times this.

I love Heavy Rain's graphics. I love Heavy Rain as a whole game (yes, a game. Battle sequences are solved with QTE's sure, but the rest is a game, just the interface is very different from others. What exactly makes 'push the right analog stick in a certain way to do certain action' less a game mechanic than 'press F to use', or 'left click to interact'?). It's my all time favorite.

Call me a fanboy, but I agree with him. L.A. Noire's facial animations are looking great (and Cage admits that), but even trailers can show you what he is talking about. I'm ultra hyped about L.A. Noire, because I love detective stories, and graphics, setting, EVERYTHING look damn fine so far... But if there's one studio that can 'one up' this level of graphics and animations - it's Quantic Dream... And maybe Crytek if they'll stop making things look too shiny.
These two fine people pretty much say everything that I have to say on this matter. I am looking forward to LA Noire as much as the next man but that doesn't I have to hate heavy rain. I'm happy that both games exist.

However what I will say and it really bugs me to see it so often on this website is people bashing games like Heavy rain, calling them 'movies' and the such like, yet at the same time bitching and moaning about all the sequals and lack of innovation in the industry.

So I finally got round to playing Beyond: The Ellen Page Variety Hour and.... the bodies in both games move like a punch and judy puppet show but LA Noire's facial animations are 20x better.

Too bad good graphics can't make up for writing that wouldn't impress a drunk man who spent the last 5 days locked in a closet watching nothing but NBC while smashing his brain with a frying pan.

Seriously, nice graphics was literally the only thing beyond two souls had going for it. Because the actual story had the government try to open a portal to hell only to have it malfunction, so they build another one and the same shit happens. Meanwhile, jodie goes from being all homeless and sad to battling ancient native american sand demons. Seriously.

And here's the kicker, even with a story that fucking insane, it's still boring to watch and play. It's the "After earth" of video games.
